You're right Chris. That was way back in the 70's. I worked for the US Customs service and we had a range out near Ellis Island, run by the Coast Guard. It was mostly just .38 service revolvers and a few .45s, so it's been a while. I think at this point I've forgotten things you haven't even learned yet, ha, ha!

Missed !

Cool, I do like my 1911 in .45 ACP.....!   And last time I was at the range, two weeks ago, I was knocking down steel Ram silhouettes at 500 meters.  I got it to where I could do four in a row, missed the fifth one just barely.  That's not too bad I'd say....  That's 550 yards, 5 and 1/2 football fields away...   Had my Leupold 3 x 9X scoped M-1A (that's an M-14 clone).  So maybe you forgot what I can still remember and do....?    Oh, and I was shooting back in the 70's also....  Late 60's actually...  Shotguns (skeet and trap), deer rifles, and .22 rifles mostly....   Chris

The only "fear" in George Washington was in "Fearless".

Not sure if he ever actually said this but I like it anyway..........      Chris

One issue in the pro-gun anti-gun conversation never gets any attention. it seems most gun owners try to exercise some degree of responsibility. After all, every right is accompanied by a responsibility. But it appears that responsible owners assume that every gun owner takes the responsibilities as seriously as they do. And some don't. And that's where the trouble begins. Besides, it's impossible to legislate responsibility. It's a difficult problem.
