Legislation not needed. Laws are already on the books. Nice try, rookie. Fake News.

What, even more guns laws.....? Guy had full auto weapons which are against the law to own unless you are registered, paid a $200 tax, and the weapon is a registered, legal, ATF registered, full auto. Many law abiding people have them legally but they are not the people doing these shootings. I can say for pretty sure no law abiding, full auto weapon owner has ever done anything like this. This guy had illegal full auto weapons that he probably modified himself. He committed a crime, pure and simple, multiple crimes actually, as every step in making a full auto weapon is actually a crime and so are possession of those parts. Thank God for the NRA otherwise you gun grabbing leftists would have disarmed us long ago and the death count would have been much higher....! The NRA was instrumental in defending the gun rights of people of color back from 1871 on and especially from the 1920's to the 1960's so they would not be systematically disarmed by local government (think KKK and police which were often the same) and then brought out to be hanged from the nearest tree...! Martin Luther King, who's life was in great danger was denied a concealed carry permit. Only people "suitable" to carry were given permits. If you were black you did not get a permit from the sheriff. The NRA is your friend, if you knew more about American history you would know this. Chris

One more thing and I'll be silent on this issue.
The United States has 5% of the world's population, and because of our wall-to-wall gun strategy, we have 30% of all the mass shootings in the world.
Why are we always "great" at the most gruesome statistics?

For God's sake vin. A little respect for the dead and injured. But of course, the left couldn't wait to make this political.
Since you asked, though, I will answer.
Who do: Because most countries do not allow private gun ownership for the populace at large. Percent of world population and mass shootings cannot be compared without factoring availability. That would be like saying we have 5% o the population but have 65% of microwave oven accidents. Apples and oranges.
As to Vin's OP.
Tell me o gun grabber, which of those laws would have stopped this incident?Or any mass shooting? Answer, NONE OF THEM. So kudos to your "common sense" laws (that are already on the books in most states), which do absolutely nothing to stop a crazy person with evil intent. YOU CANNOT STOP CRAZY. BTW, murder and full auto weapons are already illegal...
There is no utopia where evil does not lie. Everything is a trade off. You do not trust your fellow man, and would (despite the overwhelming evidence that the vast majority of gun owners are "good") disarm them if possible. I do not trust my government or the powerful and don't want you to decide what is appropriate for me to defend myself. History supports my position far more than yours.
I find the whole thing sickening, and I find it ghoulish to even have this discussion right now.

I'll have to break my silence on this one. If you don't want to have this discussion right now, then WHEN?
Look, with both the congress and the white house in Republican hands, the "guns everywhere" strategy is safe. Nothing is going to change. What is "ghoulish" is the NRA lobbying congress to make silencers legal to protect the ear safety of those blasting away with their guns, while having no regard for those on the receiving end of all those bullets.
Now that something this horrendous has happened once, it will happen again and again until it simply becomes commonplace. We're already headed in that direction. Surprising to me, there have already been seven mass shooting in the USA this year and not one of them was in the news to the extent that anyone would notice. Talk about ghoulish?
Just wondering - if a relative of yours had been a victim in Las Vegas, what would be your position? Be honest.
And one more thing - when Australia had a serious mass shooting in 1996, it took them twelve days to pass extremely strict gun control legislation and they haven't had a mass shooting since. Oh, and their country didn't fall apart like the USA is doing now.
And BTW, I own a firearm, so don't give me any crap about being anti-gun.

When are you going to voluntarily surrender your gun? Stay out of the gun conversation. You're a Hypocrite, and ignorant as to the central issue here:
The Vegas shooter was a normal man, no criminal record. You can't stop all evil, no matter how hard you Commie Libs try.

Got an idea:
Every time there's a mass shooting, the NRA has to pay $1 million to families of dead people, and medical costs of the wounded.
Gee, sometimes I'm surprised by my own brilliance!

Hey Dummy, the vast majority of perps who do mass shootings are Democrats.. so have the Dem party give money to victims. Your ignorance precludes you from talking about the central issue. Facts don't seem to matter to you Commie Libs... only emotion. Unthinking wimps.

We need to vigorously defend the 2A to protect freedom, liberty and ourselves from the Vinny's, Obama's, Hillary's, and SJWs/AntiFa's of the world who would use any means possible to subject the rest to their undesirable corruption of authority and beliefs (which is not social but personal). Any one who believes that Hillary was seeking office for public social gains and not for corrupt personal gains is delusional and ignoring the truth.
Arms are a tool to ensure freedom, liberty and natural rights. If you give up the 2A, you give up everything that it protects. If you can't see that, then you're one of the people we're protecting ourselves against.

Well said ghost....
And just a reminder of what happens when liberals, leftists, communists, socialists take your guns, your way to defend your life, your home, your family, your street, your town.
Mao: 40 million killed
Stalin: 20 million...
Hitler: 12 million...
Pol Pot: 3 million...
North Korea: 5 million...
Tito, Yugoslavia: 2 million..
Socialist Rwanda: 800,000 killed
...and I could go on with millions more in Africa and South and Central America......

My position would remain constant. The diminishing of my inalienable rights by a government is far more of a threat to me and my offspring than a random wacko.

You are incorrect sir.
There have been at least 4. Not to mention mass killings by stabbing, blunt instrument and arson.
