Interesting to watch who complains . . .
Could it be those who are now without a forum in which to whine??

"Sometimes on purpose and sometimes by accident, teachers' unions have a long history of working against the interests of children in the name of job security for adults. And Democrats in particular have a history of facilitating this obstructionism in exchange for campaign donations and votes." . . .Amanda Ripley re "Waiting for Superman" movie.

I suspect that once all the liberal/democrat posters are gone it'll reopen.

Guys,
It's turned off for a little while. Who cares!? It's no big deal. John can run his site in the way he sees fit, regardless of polls...right or wrong, good or bad...it's his site.

Thanks, bish, for supporting John.
I hope I'm speaking accurately. (John, please correct me if I am mistaken.) I believe that John has made this decision with careful consideration. He has been discussing his concerns about the Political Forum with the moderators for over a year. During that time there have been periods of liberal bashing, and other periods of conservative bashing.
I sense this decision is not about conservatives vs liberals. Instead, it seems to be a trial attempt at reducing the divisiveness on the Forum. Perhaps what has evolved here on the Forum is not in line with John's vision.
This IS John's site. I don't contribute financially to its operation. I don't have rights. I get to put in my 2 cents worh in an unscientific poll, but this is not a democracy.......Why don't we all relax!

We are all relaxed, except for 2 or 3 of us. There is so much more to talk about than world politics, its nice to have this break imposed by the owner, creator and director of this site.
Thanks again, JOhn. Good idea

No problem. So far the reaction was exactly what I thought it would be... sorry if people didn't agree with the decision but sometimes you have to make tough calls. I did it for the ultimate benefit of our .community members - stay tuned.

Good, also I hope that the forum takes action on the few (you know who they are) who seem to be just interested in trolling and making every thread about politics and gay rights. I noticed those few never have anything nice and constructive to say about anything else. Take action now or this will become yahoo forums.

Our webmaster has locked the forum for the time being.
I think this is a well-needed vacation from political debate. Maybe we can concentrate on some community-building in the meantime, and enjoy the beautiful late spring weather.

if you think you're going to "bully" and intimidate us away by claiming we can't be political on here, you've got another thing comin'....

The liberal democrat posters are not going anywhere soon or perhaps you have not noticed
it took you exactly 8 minutes to respond to his comment. What took ya so long?
