John....there names were in the paper this morning...

and maybe this should be a wakeup call... from what I understand, there is still an investigation, but they can't hold these kids... it was probably something stupid like too much booze... maybe some drugs... who knows... I imagine they are going to have a toxicology test to find out what was in her system...

what's that drug I hear about the kids have those "raves'... something that makes them spacey... maybe she felt she could fly... an awfull situation... these boys I don't think will be the same after this....

This was covered on Ch. 3 News this morning & their names were aired... They also mentioned that they believe she had alcohol in her system, but they don't have results from the tests & autopsy yet... That's about all I gathered as I was getting ready for work...

Just because it's legal doesn't mean alchohol is not a drug. These kids were not 21 and screwed up. Hopefully someone can learn from this but don't excuse any kind of substance abuse. It sends the wrong message.

I agree their names do not need to be spread around just because the media thinks it's ok. They will be held accountable.

I withheld the names because I just didn't want to further the gossip further than it already has on local news. I think news often portrays people as guilty until proven innocent, especially in situations like this.

I don't know them, but I'm playing devil's advocate here.

EDF, you're probably thinking of ecstasy... kids today think it's harmless, I have no idea why.

I am out of theis forum if it's going to be sensored....Their names were printed already, and anyway who cares about their reputations. A girl is dead. Come on..the girl was found naked. And no matter how drunk you have ever been in your life, do you really think you might have been drunk enough to "fall" off a nine story balcony and besides I doubt that she was just out on the balcony, naked and looking over the side and slipped. I honestly think their is foul play, and this is a forum that should let you expess your freedom of speech. Because even if every person tried by law is innocent until proven guilty, you still have the right under the constitution to express your veiws on it in a forum unless you are a juror wich I am NOT. And their names are public knowledge. I can see sensoring out profanity and vulgor talk but get real.

Freedom of speech is important.

Jama got a good point there.

These two kids are over 18. A little "talk" is cool with me.

That's fine, let's talk then. Why are their names important? When they are charged with something, then I think it's important to know who they are, but they were not charged. They were released. She may have been naked, but from what I can tell there was no evidence she had sex or anything.

Alcohol does wierd things to people. Maybe she was trying to puke over the railings and lost her balance. (Yes, you can lose your balance while intoxicated, it's a proven fact!) I can name any number of *really* stupid things when I was drunk in college. My wife will tell you I damn near broke my neck jumping off a roof and in to a tree one night, because I thought it would have been funny.

I'm not saying they're innocent of wrongdoing. I'm just saying they were never charged with anything.

I agree... I think these kids names should be allowed on this forum...

They were in the paper... its public record... they were arrested... and we have the constitutional right to talk about it... except that this is a private forum...

I don't think anything we say here is going to cause some undo "legal" consequences because we dicussed them here...

I am waiting to hear what the toxicology test resulsts are... for example, how drunk was she... .08... is legally drunk... but I have had CHP tell me that some people function in life at .10... now... .16 or higher.. might be different in her case...

Last night on Fox News' Gretta VanSustren's show, Gretta did the 2nd follow up on her program on this case... Apparently this town Randolf is a pretty up scale community just outside of NYC...

I wrote to the reporter at the Honolulu Star Bulletin and suggested he take a look at the demographics of both cities... and maybe do a follow up story on the existence of booze and drugs at the local high schools...

I know for a fact that there are parents in this town who will allow their kids to have a "kegger" at their homes...

My friend Val wrote a great piece in the Telegraph about parents being more concerned about being a "friend" with their kids, instead of being a "parent"...

I speak from experience... when my ex allowed my oldest son to quit high school, I had no say since he didn't live with me... thank god my youngest son listened more to me and recognized the error his older brother made and is now at CalPoly...

I also wonder what happened to the so called "chaperone" that was with these girls... I wonder who she is and if she is "Val's poster child" of a parent wanting to be cool with her daughter and her friends... I wonder how she's gonna face her friends back home who trusted their daughter with her.... by the way.. that question was brought up in last nights show...

This thing is not over...!!!

But John, you own the forum and you can do what you want... we've had this debate before... stop with the PC....

but you know... I don't really have an opinion.. not really.... specool.gif

I still think something fishy was going on there, a naked cheerleader in their room?

I am from NJ-near Randolph. It's not an uppity town it just an adverage town. It's alot like Folsom. Except they don't have a dam and alot more traffic. Anyway, the town is mourning really bad. And I feel so bad for the family. I have a sister her age. I know what kids are doing these days. And I know that they are not as naive as we were. They are doing things at 12 that we didn't know untill 16. I just don't understand why any girl that age no matter how drunk would end up out on a ninth story balcony and some how fall. I wish you had a crying icon to add.

For the record, I say yes one can be drunk enough to fall off a balcony. I'll bet in college I was in that condition once or thrice. Lucky for me I wasn't on a ninth floor balcony. And, in my opinion, if you are naked in a hotel room in Maui with 2 people you've just met, chances are something has impaired your judgement. Besides, WHY would 2 teenage boys push a naked cheerleader to her death? Seems to me that that would be the last thing they would have wanted to have happen.

They said that she was at a gathering with the two men and then she went back to larson's (oops) room with him and later he returned to the party. ALONE. When the police woke them up the next morning, the two boys were in their room and didn't know what happened to her. Her clothes were there though. I bet someone knows. And she was legally too drunk to drive-good thing she wasn't in a car. Although either way she's gone.

When you are teenagers, YES, you can do super crazy things. I can look back and remember I did stupid crazy nutty things.

I went to night clubs with some college chickie friends, danced a little, got drunk, passed out and woke up 5 am and went home. One example..... tongue.gif . That was in the early 80's. I am sure kids are crazier today........
