It should clear up questions or create more.

Thanks! It does look like Ravine is the French restaurant.

So there's going to be another Mexican restaurant in Folsom. That's good; there sure aren't enough of those. laughcry.gif

Weird. I thought Sunny Garden was in suite #10 and the Cleaners was #11. I'm going to have to look again. Not that it really matters ....

You must be right Sunny Garden is 10 and the cleaners is 11 but also 8 isn't Kovar's is another karate place now. The mexican is still not built but I hope that it will be good Folsom needs a great mexican restaurant, I love La Placita 1&2 and wish it was it but probably not.

Folsom needs a great mexican restaurant

What are the chances? Obviously I hope it will be great, whatever it is, but most likely it will either be another chain, or just another mediocre "Mexican" eatery catering to the masses. dry.gif

Just call me cynical.

I think the full name is Ravine Bar and Restaurant which doesn't sound like a French restaurant to me.

O.k. I thought there were some reviews here on the Ravine but I can't find them. Anyway I was there on Friday night with some friends and the experience was interesting. the waitress was nice and friendly but our dinners came about 45 minutes after our soup/salad. I ordered sliced steak with mushroom sauce (beef stroganoff) which was o.k. The soup lacked flavor. Everyone thought their meal was good but not great. What is so bizarre about this place is that there are singers who perform via a karaoke machine at the bar. And at the risk of sounding old, it was loud! We couldn't hear each other speak over the sound of disco tunes and just a weird selection of music. Remember that depressing song from the 70s 'At Seventeen'? Well mix that in with some other cheesy tunes and that was the experience. The crowd was a real mix too- kind of a stereotypical divorce' crowd enjoying the 'music' at one bar and a bunch of guys watching sports at another. I am not incline to go again any time soon. I was so surprised when they took my reservation for 7:30 when I called at 5:30. Now I think I know why.

Here's the first review done not long after they opened http://www.tomatopag...?showtopic=9101

Unfortunately, it doesn't sound like things have gotten much better.
