I do have Delta Dental but it's and individual plan, not through work so it's their PMI program. Is there any way to get a better program through Delta without going through and employer?

Thank you!

Delta offers another plan that's not the PMI type. However, for a family of 4 it runs about $250.00 a month. Unless you have really bad teeth, I'm not sure a family of 4 would spend that much in a year ($3000.00).

I currently have the same insurance (Smilecare/Gateway/Summit) and am trying to decide if I want to change. Anyone have any new comments about the above places and has anyone used Dr. Charles Rodgers or Dr. Jack Shapiro?

Thanks!

I know this post is from a while back but I thought I'd add my 2 cents. Dr. Rodgers in not a onsite owner at Gateway. I bought into the practice about a year ago. It's a group practice with Pacific Dental Services still the majority owner.

Amar.

I have terrible dental insurance but need to go to the dentist for a cleaning. weirdsmiley.gif Our options are Smilecare, Gateway Dental, or Summit Dental in Folsom. Has anybody gone to one of these offices? Thank you for your recommendations!

First, ask if a hygienist cleans your teeth, or if a doctor and his assistants do it.
If hes too cheap to hire a hygienist, its probably not a good place to go. Plus, most doctors are more profitable doing dentistry, not cleanings, and usually aren't as good at it.
A cleaning is maybe $100/ 2 x a year, if you dont have periodontal problems. Think of how much we spend on hair, nails, massages, etc. Its really not that expensive when you look at it as an investment over a year compared to other services.

Hi Everybody,

needed your opinion about Dr. Michael P. Mullen, DDS. Could not find any reviews in the Net though.
Any opinions?

Highly recommend Summit. Dr. Moussavi is very good; very conscientious.
