BREAKING NEWS: How to pay for the Mexico wall? Easy...slap a 20% tax on imports from Mexico. Problem solved. Story below. Trump is slapping people down left and right. Running circles around them. Walls actually became somewhat ineffective with the advent of large catapults and trebuchets,  then they really became ineffective with the advent of gunpowder and the cannon.  So castles and walls could be knocked down easily......    But that is in warfare.   You missed my point entirely, my point was to add to the fact that walls were built for thousands of years to keep people out who were on foot or horseback.  You guys left out one of my favorite walls named after one of my favorites of Roman history so I am glad you are aware of it now.   And, last time I looked the illegal Mexicans were walking, not flying.....   And here's a picture of a denarius like I have in my collection.... Emperor Hadrian........  And 2000 years from now will the remnants of Trump's wall be called Trump's Wall by historians.....?   Chris

Chris,  a little research might give you better insight into who the illegal aliens actually are.  a large % of the Mexicans who walked or swam across the border have gone back to Mexico because the economy is better.  But there is still a large number of illegals in the USA.  Who are they?  How did they get here?  It turns out that most of them came here on a valid visitor's visa.  But then most of them decided to overstay their visa, often by years, some by decades.  These are the largest % of illegals in the USA.  They arrived here by airplane.  Didn't walk.  How will a wall stop this demographic of illegals?

I bet it's those damn Irish....!    I remember the signs I've seen from a 100 years ago or so.......   "Help Wanted, No Jews, No Blacks, No Irish need apply".....    My Irish grandfather, from Co. Monaghan, just carried on and made a fortune through hard work, good smarts, and good timing...!   Except for maybe that hotel he sold on 3rd street in SF a few weeks before WW2 started........?   He missed that one....   But yet as a plumber, he owned 2 acres in Atherton back in the 1960's.   I remember riding on his lap, on his red tractor, back in 1963 or so.......?   Just look at Atherton today, want to buy a house...?   Chris
