Commentator on the Lawrence O'Donnell show:

(Paraphrasing)

You'd think the GOP hit a new low when they elected a womanizer, admitted sexual predator, who

hates, gays, Hispanics, Muslims, and the free press, but by supporting a child molester, for the US Senate,
one who praises the slavery era and has praised Vladimir Putin - when they rally behind such a misfit,

this is absolutely a new low for the Republican party.     :BOO:

No didn't watch the Turnip Florida fiasco.

Riveted by the MSNBC report on the Christopher Steele Dossier that shows collusion between

nine members of the Trump team and the Russians.

Documented over 70% of what was contained in the Steele Dossier, and confirmed that

Trump worked to lift sanctions against Russia and weaken support for Ukraine.

Hate to say it, but the Alt-Right circle jerk is gonna need a new strategy to counter the

overwhelming evidence showing Trump working for Russian interests, not the good

of the American people.    :noyoudint:

Trump has been groomed by Putin since 2008, when Russia was the only entity

to bail him out of his business failings. Better get ready for when the dam breaks, fellas!

:old:

Hey Tio Vinny, Lawrence O'Donnell is a rabid socialist and a vicious partisan.  He hates Capitalism, hates Conservatives, and hates every religion except islam.  Nothing good or redeeming about that man.  Chris

Crazy report for Dec 14 -

Prior to the Alabama election, Trump spoke loudly that if Moore lost, it would be a disaster for the Republican party.  Now that Moore did lose, Trump is saying it's, "...not a big problem...".  So which is it?  The president seems to consistently lose debates with himself.  Crazy?

Crazy is as crazy does.

This ARE signs of intelligence . . .
Even the Alt-Right is coming to its senses!!!

President Trump Is Losing the Support of Fox Viewers

90% down to 55%

Suffolk University and USA Today released a poll this week, which found that among people who trust Fox News the most, the president’s approval rating has been sinking. His favorability among Fox devotees in June was 90 percent. In October, it was 74 percent. This week? Fifty-eight percent. If that trend continues, he will be underwater with the Fox audience long before the 2018 midterms.

Echoing the words of Steve Schmidt, campaign manager for John McCain:

Here's a man who faults his own intelligence agencies, disparages the FBI, praises Putin,

mocks disabled people, boasts of sexual predatory behavior, and needs a baby sitter.
The man is dangerous and insane.

I too disparage out intelligence agencies. If you have been paying the slightest attention, you would too.

Crazy report for Dec 19 -

It appears that new tax law will become reality shortly.  The GOP and White House keep stating that the significant tax breaks that corporations will get will create more jobs for the nation.  There are two reasons this won't happen:

1)  The nation's unemployment rate is a little north of 4% right now, and it's common knowledge that about 4% of the population is unemployable.  So there are no workers to take all these new jobs that industry will supposedly create.

2)  But wait,  industry will not be creating any new jobs.  The vast majority of fortune 500 companies have already stated they will use the tax reduction windfall to buy back their own stock which will push up stock prices. And this will happen because most corporate executives are rewarded with stock options which turn into huge paydays for the execs when stock prices rise.

And Americans are crazy enough to elect these people and pay them.

I LOVE it when corporations make money!. That means my retirement will come all the sooner...Why is the GOVERNMENT entitled to such a chunk of any of our money?   WHo knows how to spend it better, the person (or company) that EARNED it, or the government that wastes it?  <cough> bullet train <cough>

Oh, the FEELING you will have when you finally recognize that corporations aren't going to share any of their wealth with you.       :BOO:

They are ALREADY sitting on record profits, which they hide in off-shore accounts and pumped up executive salaries.

:beverage:

They are NOT hiring. They are NOT increasing wages.

Also, how much of your salary are you willing to give to the highways department to build decent roads in California.

How much are you willing to give to the military to protect us? To the police?

Let me guess - - ZERO.
THAT is why we need taxes to pay for such essential services.

Calif already takes in zillions of $$ in income taxes, gasoline taxes, DMV fees, etc... and the roads are still a disaster. Time to cut them off, do an audit, figure out where the waste is, and make them get their act together. You are naive if you don't realize that.

False logic. I ALREADY pay the highest gas taxes in the nation for some of the worst roads in the nation.

I don't care if companies are hiring. That is none of government's (or your) business. As a SHAREHOLDER, I welcome their profits.

I ALREADY pay far more than the "average" person in taxes.

What I am against is police chiefs making 250k a year with car/electronic expenses. I am against ridiculous (and unsustainable) pensions bankrupting cities. I am against the abuses of the CHP disability retirement. I am against the Pentagon wasting 100s of billions of dollars on crap.I am against the frivolous waste of my hard earned money by an uncaring bureaucracy. I am against entitlement programs in general, but especially ones that have been proven to be ineffective and yet continue to grow.

Essential services? Puhlease. When government limits itself to essential services, I will be a happy man.

Well, we already do.........   But they just divert it to the general fund for other things...   Like getting more votes for the dem party....   Again, you live in a fantasy world Tio Vinny.  They (the dem majority under the dome in Sac.)  divert up to a Billion dollars a year to the general fund from the diesel tax alone....   Every year....

https://www.dailynew...matthew-harper/

http://www.capradio....r-road-repairs/

"Speaking outside the state Capitol on Wednesday, Republican State Assembly Leader Chad Mayes said Sacramento has a history of diverting transportation dollars. He cited the $1.1 billion in truck weight fees, some of which previously funded road repairs, but was diverted to pay off debt for new transportation projects."

"The state has routinely frittered away transportation money by spending it on other projects. During the last recession, the Legislature moved $1 billion per year in truck weight fees from funding road maintenance to the General Fund.

General Fund spending grew by more than $15 billion over the last two years. Despite this, weight fees have not been returned to transportation, and none of this new spending directly supported road repairs. If weight fees were put back where they belong, we could completely eliminate the need for the California Transportation Commission to cut any projects. The fees allow would fully fund the threatened projects, with money left over.

What is more, the state wastes what transportation money it does have. A 2014 report from the nonpartisan Legislative Analyst Office showed that Caltrans is overstaffed by 3,500 full-time employees, at a cost of more than $500 million per year."

Worst roads in the nation??   Driven in Boston lately?  I was there 3 weeks ago and would have preferred if the signs had directed me off-road to the cow paths.  Fortunately, I purchased the insurance for the rental car.  It was damaged by the potholes on I-93.  Bent suspension arm on the left front.  It was a front-wheel drive so big repair expenses.

Against entitlement programs in general??  On average, your Social Security entitlement will pay you back ALL the money you paid into it at about 4 year and 3 months.  After that, are you willing to send your Social Security checks back to the government?  Tell me "yes", and I won't believe you.

And the GOP message that their tax plan will create jobs is a myth.  Most fortune 500 companies have already said they plan to use the tax windfall to repurchase their own stock, which pushes up their stock price, which benefits top management thru their stock options.  In essence, top management is simply using the tax windfall to enrich themselves.  Hope no one is surprised.  And companies announcing that they'll start paying a $15 minimum wage??  For a behemoth corporation, that kind of money is in the petty cash drawer.  Most people can't grasp the enormity of the money corporate America has sitting in the bank.  One example - Apple is sitting on $248B.  Factor in long term debt, and their cash position is about $174B.  And with the new tax bill, it's estimated their cash position will increase about $13B.  And Apple has no clue what to do with it.  So they'll repurchase more stock this year (pushing up their stock price) and increase their dividend by about 15%, and will still increase their cash position.  And the man-in-the-street benefits by paying $1000 for the new iPhone.  Whooopie!!!
