KFBK said the developer is near bankruptcy and this could stop the Palladio as well as the new malls being built in Elk Grove and Tracy.
It will be an long term eyesore if it is halted mid-way through construction.

An eyesore both physically and as a reminder of the soured economy. Hopefully they will finish it before the decades old project overlooking Lake Natoma across from Scott's Seafood.

Maybe we can get a bailout package from the Government to finish the mall - they're handing out money like crazy these days!

Hey, now there's a great idea. Let's raise someone's taxes so we can bail out Elliott and Palladio! wacko.gif

Elliott Homes is funding the project.

General Growth Properties was hired by Elliott to land national tenants.

Its funny how everyone spews false information about this project. Its not the same as the Elk Grove mall... that is being funded by GGP.

All that anyone would have to do is Google "palladio mall folsom"... and you'd get some info... instead of guessing.

Well, you can tell that to Kelly Brothers at KFBK and ask him about his business report this morning.

So, is Elliott Homes in fine financial shape?

I'm guessing he has made a boat-load of money with all the land he was able to develop in Folsom alone... not to speak about other areas.

Elliot must be doing pretty good because they are spending over $800,000 alone just on the art that is going to be put in place at the mall (the art they chose for the site is going to set Palladio apart from every single mall within 100 miles - it is going to be some incredibly beautiful work)

Yeah art and giant metal statues of rabbits will bring anchor stores and customers by the dozens!

That link is to an article that is more than 2 years old. Is there newer information.

Why would there be new info on who is funding the project and who is trying to get tenants?

Its Elliott's project. Simple as that... what can't you accept about it.

I think I stated that it was an Elliott project about 8 posts ago. I knew that. I was looking for any new information about it and apparently there is none.

I guess I'm just frustrated at the "rumors" that have no factual proof that are being spread. I see that you weren't one of them... but several don't even simply check facts before posting anything.

I just hope it ages well...

When I was a kid they filmed "Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure" in Metrocenter (standing in for the "San Dimas Mall") in north Phoenix, which was the newest closest biggest mall to where I grew up. It's odd watching the movie now and seeing the mall two renovations ago. All the fountains are different now.

no rabbits, but a few horses and herons

if you have to spend hours at a mall shopping with your spouse at least it'll be nice to see the art

course you have to have an appreciation for the arts first to be able to enjoy it....

and you have no reason to complain (unless you just hate art)- the cost of the art isn't being paid by you or any tax payers, Elliot is paying for it all
