As a Folsom business owner, I'm biased on this subject. Very bummed to see Acorn go. Great food.

I think many of you are right; chains can afford places in nicer centers & have more leverage with suppliers. That being said, is there any place in Folsom that is more than a 15 minute drive?

I do wish more people would think about is what it means to support a small locally owned business. It honestly pains me to see people waiting outside of BJ's. It's a good place, don't get me wrong, but $$ spent at local restaurants has a greater chance at staying in our community. A local small business owner lives in your community; they may be your neighbors. Local business owner own homes in your community. If a local business fails, quite often a for sale sign will go up in your neighborhood. This hurts all of our property values. A bit heavy thought when you are thinking about where to go to dinner, but a true community should seek to support each other.

I know some of my customers drive by the fancier "chain" places on their way to my shop. I can't tell you how much I appreciate you! I do wish there were a few more... :)

PS. Folsom Strings is a great deal and also has great service and you don’t have to wait outside for a seat. :D:

Could have...but I thought I saw some cars in front last week. My husband noticed a sign on the door tonight.

My mom goes a lot for the salad bar and went last week and they were closed. Must have been just over a week ago that they shut down.

She went a few weeks ago in the early evening and they were closing up hours early. They said because they hadn't had customers...

yes....unfortunately we have to do that also. Sometimes we can go with no table for a hour at the end of the night, so we close earlier. like tonight, very slow.

Add Round Table Pizza in EDH off Francisco to the list. Think Mountain Mike's beat them locally and or the Pizzeria Classico, Chicago Fire Pizza in Folsom.
