I can't make Red Robin on tuesday.

But my wife is gone for the weekend, so it is the boy and me running amuck, I mean ruling the roost this weekend. biggrin.gif

Ok, we've got a b-day party to go to shortly, and then afterwards a little shopping to do, and then we are headed to Red Robin for dinner tonight. Little guys choice. I've been wanting to try their French Dip, but I may just go for a burger to rate it in a timely fashion with next tuesday's gathering.

If anyone is game, I expect to arrive at RR at about 5:30 PM today.
I would rather be Backpacking

Anybody tried the Sarah Palin Moose Burger at Balcony Bistro yet? Curious if moose tastes much different than a regular burger.

I haven't tried BB's, but I've had moose and elk burgers before. Good, but not as good as a nice juicy beef patty smile.gif I did like Beefalo, that was mighty tasty.

Once again, Sticking with my previous voting format,

I want to premise this with, I love going to Red Robin, I always get great service at the one in Folsom. changes and mixing things up they do readily as well ( I once ordered their Salmon burger, but wanted it protein burger style, aka no bun wrapped in lettuce, with their chipotle mayo, no problem, and it was very tasty). I've never had to flag my waitress down to refill my water, they stay on top of the level of your beverage.

With that said:
Tonight I ordered the shroom burger and requested sauteed onions as well. I substituted salad for bottomless fries and had thousand island dressing. I also asked for A-1 sauce, so the bottom bun got thousand island and the top bun got A-1.

And as expected, this burger was very very tasty.

Patty, thick and juicy, gets a 10 (asked for medium, got medium)
Cheese, the Swiss was very good, I give it a 10.
Condiments, well, I ordered a mushroom burger, so it came with lots of mushrooms and the grilled onions as requested, gotta rate it a 10.
Bun, regular type bun, held up OK, considering the mushroom load it had to support, I'll give the bun a 7.
Special Sauce, well I got exactly what I wanted on it, another 10.

I guess that averages out to a 9.4 for me.

I would rather be Backpacking

I never ate at Carls before the 6-dollars came along. Cardboard.. blech tongue.gif

No way! The 6 dollar burgers at Carl's are great. If you don't have time for a Red Robin burger, Carl's is the place to go. We went to Burger Hut last weekend. Cost me $50 for a family of 4 and the burgers were just ok. Probably won't go back.

No, I was saying the Carls "regular" burgers are cardboard. The 6-dollars are the only reason I would eat there now...

Your cardiologist says, have a couple of beers to wash them down, and you should be good for at least another day. biggrin.gif

excellent advice!

I also liked your review Bill, but I sorta get the impression it was a tad biased hehehe (just razzin' ya). That place really does make very good burgers.

Looking forward to going to RR today - its been a few years since the last time I went there and I always liked that place.
