Interesting. When you see the situation like this where people on one side are resorting to the extreme behavior of the people on the other side, you know they're worried. Do they realize that by embracing the idea of a "sanctuary city", they legitimized the concept for everyone. Some people don't think ahead very well, do they?
"You can't have the populace losing all respect for the rule of law being fostered by public officials." What say you regarding the use of recreational pot? Nine states have made it legal, the fed says it's illegal. Who's right?
You obviously missed my point. You can't have ANYBODY declaring sancuary fromn the rule of law. It either applies to us all or it applies to no one. just think it is funny that the stupid ssancuary state for illegals might result in the leftists learning a lesson about rule of law and what happens when "the other side" doe sthe same thing for something they oppose. I have no problem with people smoking pot if they so choose on a personal level. However, federal law makes it a crime. I personally think the law is stupid, but that doesn't change the law. There are plenty of CA laws I adhere to that are absolutely moronic. I prefer to respect the law, even if I think it should be changed.
Bottom line? Recreational pot should be legal for those who choose to engage in it, but it isn't (ffederal law supercedes state law). I believe eventually, when we get the octogenarians out of public office, the law WILL change Will I smoke it when it's legal? Probably not, but who can say. Maybe when I retire, I can afford to just "veg.
