Hong Kong is lost. Taiwan is too.  Just a matter of time. China has been the dominant nation for thousands of years with only a stumble the last couple hundred. They believe they are better than everyone else in the world and are working hard to achieve that...without pesky morals or civil rights getting in the way...Meanwhile, US leftists are tearing down the greatness of the US at every opportunity. they are the useful idiots of Socialist and Communist propaganda regimes. THIS IS A QUESTION FOR CHRIS...

 

Hey...I'm back.  Not here to bash all the brainless MAGA butt-heads lurking in the shadows.  It's tempting, tho.

 

Chris, remember you know somethin' 'bout old firearms.  And a question for you - it appears my wife will soon inherit a couple of rifles from the late 1800's.  Her uncle passed away a few weeks ago and the will says my wife gets two old Winchester rifles.  What she's going to do with them is no clue.  I better start being nicer to her. heh, heh

 

Our question is simple - Are they valuable?  Thought I'd ask some uninterested party.  If we go to a dealer, I'm certain they'll try to screw us by tryin' to buy 'em for cheap.  

 

We don't know much about 'em, they're in another state right now.  We've been told they are model 1876 rifles, two consecutive serial numbers and in extremely good condition, whatever that is.  

 

If you can put aside all the insults I've hurled in your direction, just wondering what you know 'bout 'em.

The 1876 is a model, not a year of production  Used for big game mostly, they have pretty decent sized cartridges.  See image...

 

 

 

I'm no expert, but if they are very good condition Winchester 1876  models, I would guess about 5k each. Could be more or less depending on specific condition. A quick check on guns international shos prices ranging from 4400 to 13000 (for unique one).  Even modern day replicas go for about 1800

I did see a consecutive numbered set of 3 listed for 55000, so you may have a great find there!

Hello Pete, sorry for not getting back to you sooner....  Been working long hours lately...  I'd say Joe is on the money pretty much....   And the two consecutive serial numbers might bring a good premium if sold together....?   Make sure that no one cleans them or does anything like "polish" them up for you or brillow pad that rust off to make them pretty when you get them..!  You can make a $5000 rifle, coin, helmet, sword into a $500 one very quickly.   Also, out of state presents a problem...   Back in the day you just took a road trip and got them or had Uncle Fester put them on a long box and mail them to you...   To get them you are going to have to go through an FFL to have them shipped to you and an California FFL to have them delivered to you.  Of course you will see your new rifles at the gun store, fill out paperwork, and then go home to "cool off" for 11 days....    Once you get them go on a forum called "Calguns"....   Easy to join, free, find the old gun category and post up pics.  You will get lots of opinions and info for sure, good group there, mostly, some idiots, just like anywhere...   You'll find out who knows their stuff and who is an idiot pretty fast....   Post up some pics when you get them, would be cool to see them..    Regards, Chris
