How big is the sign? What are is the dimensions of the text/color?
On an unrelated note; Anyone know where to buy a Johnny Cash Bridge street sign?

Another great day in the adventure of exploration and sight.

I went over there yesterday. The street sign at Folsom Dam road is still in its original place.
The sign ( not a street sign) at the new road leading to the bridge says "Folsom Bridge"
Thanks for correcting.
BTW, emails to the city council, the newspapers, and Dan Lundgren have been sent.

They've opened up the new sections of roadway to divert future bridge traffic away from the Briggs Ranch entrance. This must have happened some time yesterday. For now, it looks like that entrance to Briggs Ranch is inaccessible.
This will surely confuse your GPS units

Hmm, I'll have to go check that out as it's in my neighborhood.
Yep, it will mess with GPS units. The new Benicia bridge is open now, I drove over a couple of weekends ago and my GPS unit showed me flying out over the bay, no bridge underneath me, telling me to proceed to the route as indicated.
Kinda funny.

That bridge is a Godsend! Flying through Fastrak I can get home from SF an hour faster than going up 80!

Talks a bit about the bridge being built; by the company contracted to build it.

I agree, coming back from the bay area, the huge back up on I-680 into Concord is no more.
I'm also lookig forward to the completion of the widening of I-205 by Tracy into 3 lanes each direction.

Don't give in Chip. We're all pulling for you.
If forcing you to read this thread against your will is the worst thing your captors do to you, then count your blessings. I still have flashbacks to my own "Sex in the City" thread hostage ordeal of '08. It could be worse is all I'm saying.
Please keep posting though so we know you're still alive.
ps: did you get the Red Cross package yet? Sorry they only had Swiss beer, but I asked them to throw in an extra bottle opener in case you lose one or need to trade it with the guards for a pack of smokes or today's crossword puzzle or something. Stay strong.

These are the people Folsomites keep electing to office. Why!?

I don't know.
But it would be amusing if a seemingly dopey issue such as a bridge-naming came back to bite 'em in the rear in the next election.
I suppose that's possible.
