People need GPS to navigate around Folsom????? What the @#%$#@?

'Cause Folsom is the newer, cleaner, more family oriented version of San Francisco.

Just becasue we comment on what a GPS will do because of the road change doesn't mean we need them to navigate around town. I don't know if you've ever used one, but I've found if I'm on a long trip to the bay area or somewhere and use it to find places I've never been to before, even though I know my way home, it's best to leave the GPS on so the next trip, it knows we are starting from home again. It takes a lot longer to figure things out if you turn it off in the bayarea let's say and then turn it back on in Folsom. It's memory thinks it's where it was when last turned off and it takes longer to establish it's location then. so, while I don't need it in Folsom, I have driven through town with it on.

People have lost all sense of fun and adventure. What ever happened to getting there is the best part of the trip? People need a GPS to get to the Bay area? Then they get upset when their s/w isn't up to date and they make a wrong turn. It's sad that so many people need to rely on a silly little voice telling them to "turn left 3ft from now or you'll end up in a ghetto and dead for sure!"

Apparently the bridge will cross in front of the dam that holds-back Folsom Lake.

That's close enough of a connection for me... wacko.gif
I have opinions, you have opinions. We'll just call it even...is that OK ??

To add to that, the bridge is primarily for El Dorado and Placer Count residents to allow for smooth crossing...over waterbody....to bypass Folsom...

So, 2 out of 3 words in the name make sense...the 3rd one is kinda OK - lake is a waterbody...

The name lacks character, imagination and is downright drab and boring....

Hopefully, that would be the last of it (I do have a right to be dreamy once in a while)...

Yet another reason why "Cash Crossing" would have been more appropriate.

Does it matter what it's called? I care about when it's done!
We all dream of a world of sunshine and rainbows and peace. The problem is some people think this would be a great place to live, while others think it would be a great place to pillage.

When visiting customers located somewhere one has never been before, just getting there is NOT the best part of the trip, but getting there ONTIME is. And even though there can be errors, in general the little GPS boxes do a pretty good job. And then while in unknown areas, the ability to find restaurants, gas stations etc, is worlds better than the old paper Map and a phonebook. I prefer to embrace most modern technology than to live like the Amish.

thats a good point about el dorado and placer folks being big users

old miklos said he was a Cash fan but wanted folsom in the name. since the bridge will be q quick way for out ot town folks to get around folsom ithey might have called it

folsom lake bypass....miklos gets his name and the bridge use is better stated.
I like this here post cause it showed the old council at its finest, not getting it right

the issue is one that all folks can understand, its not complicated like the story about how they sold the land over by the school real cheap and the buyer sold it right after for a profit and the paperwork got lost.

now that was an issue not as easy to understand the stupic action (or worse) but calling a bridge that doesn't cross over what its named even the kids can figure out.

I can hardly waid until the ballad of the bridge is ready....that would be a grand occasion for a my folsom get together for the first singing

Love it
Cash Crossing
and please make it a toll bridge... folsom city residents exempted from the toll by window decal - since its mainly out of towners who will benefit from it.
