I am not saying it is okay, I am wondering how someone who didn't do any homework or read any fine print can get so mad at it. Credit card companies do it, television companies do it, car dealerships do it, and apparently now furniture stores do it. You have to read the terms and conditions of any deal or contract before you make a purchase or enter that contract, this isn't new news.

That is exactly our point! I read the terms and conditions as soon as I signed up for this program. MFT is not following THEIR OWN terms and conditions.
My October rebate was declared invalid because I made a mistake in redemption. I am not complaining about that.
I am complaining about the fact that MFT has not followed through with their obligations. As a result, I blame Beck's for their "not our problem" attitude towards the whole situation and the fact that they continue to run the promotion (got another ad for it yesterday) despite all the issues.

Yesterday I recieved a second $35 gift card. I think they are following the same procedure as BBZ. Send nothing until people complain a lot then just send them the cards they ask for afte a while. Apparently their record keeping needs some work though.
UPDATE: MFT has had 208 complaints to the BBB in the last 12 months (that has more than doubled in two months). 95 of which they did not respond to.
Why are people getting two $35 visa cards, MFT is not that retarded to send out two accidently. Sacdj said he received a 2nd one too, it doesn't make sense. I will give them a call later today and complain.
I was one of the 95

Just got off the phone with Steve @ MFT. He said that they had sent out an email stating that the September ones would be delayed 11-12 weeks after November X. So now it will be sometime in Feb of 2010 before we get our 2nd visa cards. He offered me the value packet, I refused. I asked him to resend the email to me, he said he did. I still have not received it as of yet.
Ha, saw this on craigslist:

I don't think that guy can sell his coupons. I'm pretty sure it's non-transferable. I have received 2 $35.00 visa cards but nothing since then. I got both about 3 weeks ago. I've sent in my receipts every month and just this week sent mine in for November. However, I forgot to mail it and sent it in on Dec. 1. I took it to the post office so I know it will have Dec. 1 date on it. I hope they don't notice and ban me for life.

Non-transferable? Isn't that what Beck's does with them - transfer them in exchange for someone buying furniture? This person, it seems, doesn't want to tick off customers by getting them lured in to this nightmare - so they're simply getting rid of them in exchange for money instead of business. I'd have to see the terms of purchase for the original certs - but Beck's certainly "transfers" them.
Your mileage may vary . . .

Dear My Free Travel Customer:
My Free Travel has operated a successful travel business for the past twenty-two years. We have successfully helped millions of consumers reach their travel destinations in an efficient and cost-effective manner, and while doing so, we have brought a tremendous amount of happiness to all of our customers during these past twenty-two years. During the last five years, we also implemented a rebate program that has enabled consumers to submit receipts in exchange for Visa Gift Cards that could be used at their discretion.
Unfortunately, a rebate company that also managed rebate programs went out of business, and as a result of them leaving customers stranded, My Free Travel "stepped up to the plate" and offered to replace those "broken" rebate certificates at no cost to the end consumer.
While our intentions were good, we could not have anticipated the unprecedented volume, and as a result, there were many, many more redemptions than we had planned for. This caused infrastructure stresses resulting in our inability to process the receipts as timely as we had promised. Customers had extraordinary wait times and we were delayed on following through on many of the promises we had made.
This letter provides some solutions that we've developed to resolve the problems, about which we feel terrible, but which we want to make right for our customers.
Listed here are three options which you may chose from by emailing us at RebateDelays@MyFreeTravel.com or by mailing this letter to our Marketing Center at PO Box 1494, Plainfield, IL 60544.
Option One: Due to the delays noted above, we cannot accurately predict when your next rebate card will be sent to you, but we hope to send all rebate cards within the next twelve to sixteen weeks. Please note that it may take longer, but if you agree to wait by selecting this option, please do so knowing that you will eventually receive your promised Visa cards, although their delivery will be significantly delayed.
Option Two: View the Lifetime Travel Book to see a copy of our Lifetime Travel Book. This book has a savings of over $15,000 in travel offers, and is being offered to you at no cost in exchange for forfeiting the balance due on your rebate program. By selecting this option, you understand that your rebate certificate will be voided, and a Lifetime Travel Book, with over $15,000 in value, will be mailed to you within ten days. The offers in this book do not expire and can be used by you and your family. Offers include 2 for 1 airfare, 2 for 1 cruises, complimentary hotel and resort stays and much more.
Option Three: View the Savings Bucks Book to see a copy of a SavingsBucks Book. This book grants you access to over 120,000 local & national coupons, plus includes $500 in SavingsBucks that may be used to get steep discounts at 10,000+ restaurants, over 12,000 name brand products, plus savings on hotel stays, gift cards, and more. This book is being offered to you at no cost in exchange for forfeiting the balance due on your rebate program. By selecting this option, you understand that your rebate certificate will be voided, and a SavingsBucks Book will be mailed to you within ten days.
My Free Travel is committed to giving you a product that provides you with the kind of value that you expect. Please provide the serial number on your rebate certificate, and tell us which option you select in the section below. Then, email or mail us with that information, so that we can act on the option you have selected.
Sincerely,
My Free Travel

Who are you and how are you involved in this? Mr. 1 post?
We have given them the benefit of the doubt. Also, they knew they were replacing Tidewater and BBZ. They voluntarily offered new certificates to the Venders (FOR A FEE). MFT is no philanthropic organization. If they are behind on processing, they need to hire some temps. There is a 10% unemployment rate. They can get workers to help them catch up. clearly this is intentional.

We can now sit down to Christmas dinner at our new dining room furniture and not be thinking about the money we were supposed to start receiving back for gas in 2008! Good luck to all of you still trying to collect. If you got your vouchers from Ashley here's the news on their settlement agreement:

Doesn't sound like a good deal to me but I suppose it would be better than nothing.
