I am so glad it is COOK!

Even though I like Cook better, I'm sorry that he won because now he's locked into the crap of a contract with AI. Good for him, though and WOW! 12 Million Vote difference?!?! Insane!!!
THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING MY GIRL.
We could not be doing this without you.
Much love and gratitude.

It does suck that he's contracted... but like did Carrie Underwood, I'm sure he will buy out of his contract. He will be much more successful on his "own."

YAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH COOOOOOOOOKKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!!

David Cook is sure to have a nice careeer and I think he'll be in the genre of Chris Daughtry and have some hit records...

I think the best think about American Idol is what happens to the others...that didn't win...

Kristy Lee Cook according to Randy would be a person that he'd sign.. don't know if he will or not... but she's some good country material ala "Kellie Pickler" who by the way has won some Country Music awards and been nominated for others...

Look at Blake Edwards... he's doing good...

Michael Johns might have a shot at some records... Syesha Mercado is going to be just fine... I think she just might have some shots at some Broadway stuff like Randy suggested... she's really a very pretty and personable gal and she might be in some acting gigs soon...she's already done some commercials...

While I know a lot of people here really didn't like Brooke White.. I did and I think she might have some good luck doing some stuff mabye like "Dido"... or maybe something accoustic like "Sugarland" in their hit record "Stay"... Brooke has a lot of talent...

Amanda the "Rocker chic"... well... she could put together a really great tribute band for Janis Joplin and do a lot of county fairs... and we might even see her at FOLSOM LIVE...!!! doing just that...

David A...? this kid... wow.. he's so young and he's got the voice that can sing the phone book... I'm not sure I'd buy one of his CD's but he's got a future too...

Overall I thought that show last night was just awesome...I thought it was well produced... didn't like Jimmy Kimmel though... I loved it when David Cook sang with ZZ Top.. that was really cool... really shows his versatility...

David A wouldn't do himself harm by hooking up with a band like the one he sang with last night... he fit right in there...

This season I thought was on par and probably even better than Season 5 which had 9 out of the top 10 get recording contracts...

Let's see where they go in the next 6 to 12 months... if you remember Daughtry came out strong right away and Kelli Pickler had a hit single by the end of the year after the show ended....

Great show last night!

That duet with the two David's singing Hero was freakin awesome!

One of my favorites was seeing Seal and Sayesha sing, that sounded perfect (and yeah I'm a geek, I dig Seal's music)

The best act of the night (to me) was Carrie Underwood, man that was an awesome song she sang! ... and I don't even like country music that much

had fun seeing Cook rock out with ZZ top, I bet he was super stoked to be up there, it looked like he was pretty happy to be singing with Bryan Adams too.

George Michael kinda creeped me out - he looked sorta sickly

I know the AI contract stuff sucks, but the right man won this year! Congrats to David Cook

P.S. there were so many former idols there but one guy I noticed missing was Taylor Hicks, I just did some research and found he seriously tanked and lost his record contrack http://www.bloggings...ecord-contract/

They're all locked into a crap AI contract, whether they win or not. Other people may produce them, but AI still gets theirs.

Can you believe I didn't watch last night? Apparently, I missed quite a bit. Armstrong and Getty played the audio clip of that 'I am your brother' guy with the USC Marching Band?
...Folsom Barb, bring me up to speed!

Okay, she brought me up to speed as requested. All I have to say is, I'm glad David Cook won, and damn, how hot is Seal?! Heidi, I hate you. Syesha, too.

yeah Seal and Sayesha were smoking hot with that duet they did

and that "I'm your brother guy" cracked me up - then to see the USC marching band coming out just topped the performance off perfectly!

they did a worse of AI auditions and showed some of the classic ones, soooo hilarious!

it was a really good show

That's because Hick's talent doesn't work in the pop marketing machine. His talent need to perform llive, soulful, smoky stuff without all the lights choreography and big stage. His talent is more of the build-up fan base. He's not the guy you can pop on stage, tell him to dance, produce a guaranteed hit single sound and hit up all the radio stations in the morning to get people jazzed to go drop a dime on his music. AI wants the music to sell, that's where they make their most money. The tour revenue usually is titled to the artist, as they make a larger percentage of gate and merch.

I still think the guy's got big talent. Think back to his audition.

I fully agree and do remember his audition

its too bad his management failed to produce a good album for him because I always thought he would be the new Joe Cocker
