groceryrebate.net has been "under construction" for several days now. Also, if you call MFT you get a message saying "We are now closed for the holidays." Are they going to be closed until January 1st? Wonder what is going on.

Found the following at complaintsboard.com. There is no source for the information but the person who posted it is from Seneca, Illinois. I wonder if it is true...

"The company has closed it's doors today... laid everyone off. so don't be expecting your rebates or refunds. Announced that the company will no longer exist."

Suprise Suprise, not sure what I should do from here. I'm thinking about going to Small Claims at the beginning of the year. It will be a hassle but I will get my money. I sent an email to the Retail store I received my rebate vouchers from asking if they have heard of any new information about MFT. I will post here if I hear anymore about them. Thanks for the update jmreed.

Funny how the MFT supporters on this forum dissapeared....

Edit: I would say the source is correct about MFT. IF you go to their website they no longer have their number posted everywhere.

hahaha, cool. I have a life. They have them on sale at Wal Mart this week. You should try to pick one up. I just got back from Disneyland. Good weather down there. Clear and 74 all week. tongue.gif

As for MFT, I got 70.00 from them and know several others who got at least that much....Oh well.....Next!

Remember $9.95 of that was a "processing fee" refund. $60 when you were promised $500 doesn't exactly make them legitimate.

From their BBB listing... Beck's is gonna have to start scrambling now...

http://www.bbb.org/c...iet-il-53000910

Out of Business

My Free Travel has informed the BBB that as of December 17, 2009 it has laid off its entire staff and has ceased operations.

Consumers with complaints against this company should contact the IL Attorney General's office by calling the Chicago Consumer Fraud hotline at 1-800-386-5438.

How to proceed now with Becks? Is it a time for class action mellow.gif

Check out their CS Manager -Lara Francecisco reply on my BBB copmplaint :

My Free travel has been in business for over 22 years, they have been doing the grocery card and gas promotions for over 5 years. this company was checked out by out side law firms prior to us deciding to go with them as the company to resolve this issue. we have done our research on this company and they are not going anywhere per the lawyers and the research. I am in the process of getting a substantial number of customers taken care of. all customers that got the original promotion get this new card as there replacement and a $50 in store credit. The $9.95 activation fee is reimbursed to the consumer with there first gift card. The directions are very specific an we encourage all of the consumers to read the terms and conditions, so they know the rules of the voucher promotion. This customer was told that when companies file for bankruptcy everyone losses the consumer and us. We are not able to honor his request of the in store credit or other discount. He already has received the new voucher and the $50 in store credit that we are issuing to all of our voucher customers. As to resolving the promotion problem, this is the voucher company we have gone with. This is the option we have for our customers, we leave it up to them to utilize it or not.

Don't expect much from Becks at all....already saw their responce before.

I've just submitted Consumer Complaint on :

http://www.dca.ca.go...omplaints.shtml

and BBB claim.

Becks frurniture is ranked "A" on BBB Accredited business since 01/01/1992, I want to see how they responce with suche a good rating....

I guess that's why they call it fine print. I guess I can throw out my remaining monthly coupons. sad.gif When any business goes in the tank, there is always collatoral damage.

I know of one rep. who was doing this rebate thing full time, selling them to schools and such for fund raisers. Word is they sold 1,000s of them. That's a shame for them. I'm curious as to how that all plays out.
