I heard (nope, didn't attend) that at the meeting at city hall, the products that were presented were even worse than what has been represented on this board.
If there's that much porn on the internet, why don't you just go there and leave downtown Folsom to be the family place (even if boring) that it primarily is.

Side note, 4,285,199,774 is just shy of 2^32=4,294,967,296. I guess Google needs to go 64-bit soon:)

Jason,
I am an idiot. What does this all mean? All I understood was 206 million sex pages. Sorry, but some of us gatta stay simple.
Thanks.

AHHHHHHHHH! That's the sound of me screaming. How many times does it have to be said that MS. TEAZ DOES NOT SELL PORN!?
What you heard at the meeting at city hall was a description of what one man saw at SPARTACUS website, and what they sell at their two large Portland stores. The owners of Ms. Teaz used to live in Portland, and they compared their store to Spartacus, not meaning that it would carry porn, nor much of the rest of the inventory carried by Spartacus.
They have a small shop specializing in lingerie and corsets. They aren't selling porn. They are selling adult novelty items. There is a difference.
If you are concerned about porn sales in Folsom, there is a place you should be more concerned about. 5 Star liquors, right across the street from Sutter Middle School. Kids go in there every day to buy candy, and there isn't a discreet back room, it's right there in the open. They can't miss it. Is that the kind of 'family place' you are speaking of?
How many families do you actually see walking down Sutter today? I go their often, and rarely see any. As a family, do you go to antique stores? Art galleries? Jewelry stores? Bars? Those are the chief businesses on Sutter Street. To make it a family atmosphere, we'd need toy stores, science or nature type stores, clothing stores, pet stores, book stores, music stores. There is one ice cream and candy shop. That's it. No other 'family' shops. Where are all of the entrepreneurs? They aren't there because no one goes down there.
Ms. Teaz may bring people back. Why are people continually picking on a family who saved their money to invest in this community, while ignoring REAL and ACTUAL PORN that kids see every day when they go to buy candy?
Have you seen the window display at Ms. Teaz? NO PORN! There are a couple of dresses, a poster and a sign. NO PORN!
Sutter Street won't be saved by more antique shops, but it might by bringing in fun and interesting shops like Ms. Teaz, which, in case you haven't heard, does not sell porn.
Oh, one more thing. This new shop, Ms. Teaz, won't be selling porn.

Steve,
I am gonna rip one on ya here.
Liquor is regulated by the County and State. If a store is found in violation of their license it can and likely will be revoked. Liquor licenses have a high value.
For example, if you are lucky enough to get a liquor license in Placer county, you would likely pay around 13k for one from the County. The license is then resellable on the open market for around 120k.
I know this because a friend and I are trying to buy a license (random drawing method from the County) and we will either put it to use or sell it.
Anyone smart enough to know they have a license to mint money, aka sell booze, will likely not jeopardize losing their license.
As for porn or adult novelty, there is no license required and no resale market that I know of.
I offer to you and maybe your wife as well, I will tread lightly here since I don't personally know you, to buy you all the lingerie and sex toys you seek/need. In exchange, let's keep such items on the internet and not in Folsom.
BTW, it's an easy drive to Pure Gold on Sunrise (south) if you need some stuff. I hear they have a promo going on: all 10" purple ones come with a 4 pack of D's free. You tell me when, and it's yours.
Let's keep Folsom clean. Even Times Square and 42nd St. in NYC is devoid of lingerie and vibrators these days.

Hilscher,
I don't mean to grate on you here but you've got to do a better job with your words and grammar if you seek to be taken more seriously. Sorry if I offended you with this post.

It woulnt be long until we have a mall in Folsom which will not be void of lingerie shops.
MsTeaz will not sell vibrators. It will be like going into a high end Victorias Secret with a back room full of games, lotions.oils and the like NO HARDCORE.
MsTeaz will be on a street full of bars, which im sure contribute to nearly 30% of DUIs. YOu tell me what is worse.
I know your post was intended towards Steve but i just dont understand how people can be so against such a harmless store.

What does the fact that you don't need a sex toy license provide grounds not to have a lingerie shop here in folsom. Forgive me but I do not see your logic here. Plus the fact he was talking about the store selling porn mags within site of the candy.
So I guess you would prefer to have drunks in old town instead of people buying lingerie and a few sex toys.
