BUT....before she could eat the bread the big bad BOS said, wait we need to take a slice of your bread and give it to the Bread Company, because if we don't they will take all of their bread and move.
and the state said we will take a piece of your pread and "reapportion it" to other people who don't even live near you. We'll also use it to as currency to build a giant aquaduct to send your water that you use to grown your wheat and send it to southern California. You have no choice, we'll just do it, because we know better how to eat your bread. THen the Federal Government said, we will take a slice too. We will send it to people who don't live aywhere near you. We will use it to make giant land grabs in the name of the "environment" preventing hard working people from using their own land in a way they see fit that benefits them, as we know better how to eat your bread!

The little red hen replied, "Well I can still make my own bread and besides they have more bread than everyone else so if they want more bread let them make it themselves or move!'
and jafount said, "this doesnt make any sense".
The cat said "I don't have any bread", the BOS said, " it doesn't matter everybody has to give up some of their bread even if you don't have any"
and the pragmatic animals said, "if one has no bread to give, then they will give no bread"
The Duck said, "I don't like that Bread company, I never buy that bread, so why would I want to give up any of my bread to some bread company I don't enjoy?"
and the Hen said, "because it's good for the farm as a whole, why are you too short sighted to see that, duck?
After chasing his tail, the dog said, "this the best deal we could have possibly gotten!", Then while still somewhat dizzy, he said, "what will we do if the bread company leaves?"
The pragmatic replied, "the farm as a whole, may suffer, because even though some of you may not care for the bread, it is all the bread you may get. If we have no bread, than some may leave, while others may choose to go to a different farm that still offers bread".
The hen replied, "I make my own"

The cat said, "I don't have any now."

The duck said "I don't buy that bread."

The dog said, I want it and we all need to give up something to keep the bread company that I want."
The dog then added, that it may be better for now to give up something small, so we may possibly reap larger harvests in the future"
The duck asked the BOS if the Geese in the next pasture over, had to give up their bread to keep the bread company, but the BOS said "NO", that is not our pasture. The duck said the "geese eat a smuch bread as anyone in this farm its not fair they get to keep all of their bread and while we give up parts of ours, to keep something some of us don't care for."
the BOS replied, "no they do not HAVE to give up bread, but because our pasture offers so much more vibrant opportunities, they will be enticed to visit and leave some of their bread here as they pass thru"
The dog, having just finished barking at his shadow said, " you all are just being selfish, its only one piece of bread and it will improve property values.

To which the, Fox, on the BOS replied to the Wolf, who is the CEO of the bread company, " if we could just get the Hen, Cat & Duck to chase their tails....we all would be rolling in the dough!"
and the Hen was upset, because in spite of her best eforts to get the rest of the animals involved, they chose to sit and commiserate instead of being proactive and taking the steps neccessary to help themselves prosper

It was the was the wise old owl sitting high up in the tree who had reminded everyone that it was not that long ago when the little red hen was running through the farm proclaiming "The Sky is falling, the Sky is falling, " so that maybe the animals had grown weary of these false claims.

Now this could have been the end of the story...However outside the farm on the brick road was a girl and her dog. Dorothy said to Toto, "I'm sure we aren't in Kansas anymore Toto." "In Kansas" she said, "we have the BRAINS to build a bread store, the HEART not to take bread from everyone to do it, including those who have so little to give and the COURAGE to do what is right." "This sure is a strange land! " said Dorothy.

Then she whispered to Toto, "You know Toto, just between you and I, I think some body here has bumped into the electric fence one too many times!"

Brains, Heart and Courage?

You want me to admit people of your ilk have brains, heart and courage? Then have the brains, heart and courage to admit that the only time you DO want taxes, is when you reapportion it from the so-called "rich" to the poor. Now, when the so-called "rich" actually want a small tax to help support something they enjoy, it's a bad idea?

If you wan't a good example of how nice a city without a strong tax base can be? Take a look at fun places like Fresno, or Bakersfield or East Palo Alto. What great towns. People just LOVE living there <insert extreme sarcastic tone here> I DEFY you to prove to me that the Natomas area would have thrived and prospered as much as it has if not for Arco being planted there.

Typical. You get to insult people by shrouding it in a vague "comedic" commentary.

Steve,

What specific tax does the poor pay, for what specific park, but can NOT afford to go to?

What specific tax does the poor pay, for what freeway, they can NOT afford to use?

What specific tax does the poor pay, for what specific school, that they can not afford to attend?

This proposal is for increasing a specific tax to build an Arena ( I know there are 2 measures with no guarantees about where the money is to be spent) The poor will be taxed to build something they can not afford to attend...This is wrong!

Explain to me again the importance of loosing the thousands of dollars in charitable contributions from the Kings if we don't raise 1.2 billion dollars in taxes?

Can anyone tell me of a larger corporate welfare plan in Northern California?

I have been told one of the things businesses consider in locating in an area is local tax rates. Also, I've been told one of the reasons why businesses leave an area is because of high local tax rates.

If the Kings leave ( I prefer they don't ) all that money that is currently being spent on tickets will now be available to be used for alternate forms of recreation. I wonder how many jobs that will create?

Look at all the Military base closings that have occurred.... some studies have shown that the area's economy actually improves after the base is closed and that area's economy diversifys, compared to projections of what would have happened if the base was still operational.

My advice to everyone is to relax, the sky isn't falling, The Kings aren't going anywhere! Once we vote this proposal down the polticians will then move to plan B (there is always a backup plan). Plan B will be better for the region and all of us!

Hey, if a majority of you really want to give your tax dollars away like a herd of sheep running over a cliff, let me set up a collection jar! I'll make sure it gets to the needy!

The reason why the Maloof's are even asking for something like this is they know there is enough of the herd just scared enough to do it.

Finally, do you really think if we pass the hat and raise millions of tax dollars and give it someone wealthier than all of us ( here on MYfolsom.com) put together, this will eliminate our cowtown image? I'm sure it will leave little doubt with others!

I was wrong about my prediction that AFTER we vote this proposal down the politicians will move to Plan B.....they are moving to Plan B BEFORE we vote this proposal down!
