Is there money involved? I don't feel right taking a 6-year-old's allowance... Especially when they try a fast one and I have to tell them to Go Fish themselves.

Jason

Bwah!! Okay, the six year olds will be busy with dress-up and movies in the other room.

Yep, there's money involved. Jesse wanted to do a $5.00 buy-in to the tournament, with an option to re-buy in the first hour. At first, I told him I thought that was too low, but then realized that a couple of the people who are coming aren't serious and probably would appreciate it being low, so we started to talk about doing an open buy in, and we were talking about this before we went to sleep, and sleep took over, so no decision was made yet.

So, yes. Money involved, but not from the six year olds. (=

As if you didn't have enough of a Poker fix that weekend, I'm hosting a poker night on the 26th now (7PM). Hold'em tourney followed by dealer's choice and/or additional tourneys if enough want to play.

Friday, Jan 26th, 7PM until ~midnight

PM me for info.

Jolene, I should be able to make your game as well.

Jolene, I'll come solo to your game. O's out of town the next day and I'll take the opportunity to get out before he leaves.

Awesome and awesome!

Jason, you goofed the dates on yours. If yours is Friday, that's the 26th, not the 27th. The 27th is ours. 7:00 on.

We're even picking up new chips tomorrow. Rock.

Oops!!! Fixed smile.gif

I have a couple of cases of Paulson's -- highly recommended if you host a lot of games. Although they are expensive, they seem to hold their value pretty well.

Jason, Jolene, poker players,

I'd like to crash one of these upcoming poker nights, if you'll have me. Need a player? If so, please let me know where the party is. Thanks.

I disagree. I started with 40 bucks worth of those chips, and they didn't hold their value for !@#$!

Hi Barry!

You're more than welcome to come to our poker night. I'll PM you the details.

I was planning to bump this up today, anywho.

Saturday, January 27. (That's one week!)

7:00 p.m..

We currently have 10 confirmed with four or five tentative. So plenty of space! The more the merrier. See you next week!

Ya, Mylo. I'm not sure what the problem was. The cash I got for your chips worked at the grocery store...

Friendly reminder for our game as well (Friday the 26th). Come practice before Jolene's poker night on the 27th smile.gif Please RSVP by PM (and to get directions for those who haven't been over before) -- I've got about 9 players already so we will probably have two tables for the tourney.

Last reminder! Go to Jason's poker night tonight, win a bunch of money, then come to our poker night tomorrow and make a donation. I believe both games start at 7:00 p.m..

I've lost track of how many people are coming at this point. I think we're at 14. We actually have room for up to 18. (I miscounted previously on our table space.)

The Official Word from Jesse:

Tournament buy-in: $20.00
Prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd.

Depending on how many people want to play in the tournament, we will probably just run a non-tourny table concurrently. (I am pretty sure that at least a couple of people who are coming will want to play, but not want to buy into a tournament for 20.00. So, we'll probably have a non-tourny table concurrently, but will see when everyone is there and what most folks want to do.)

I've gotten confirmations from Barry, c_vanderveen, and bishmasterb. I also have another 8 or so from outside the forums.

It's not too late to sign up! Send me a PM for directions!
