What fools!                          :joker:

$$ Trillions in tax cuts to the wealthy.

Harley-Davidson (the poster boy for Trumps tax cuts) ELIMINATES 800 jobs!   :BOO:

Screws its workers, while execs get rich with a $700 million stock buy-back                               :CHARLIEBROWNCLOUD:

And STILL, some morons support this so-called pResident.   :summerteeth:

You can't make this stuff up, folks!   :who-me:

Harley-Davidson took its tax cut, closed a factory, and rewarded shareholders
The motorcycle maker in January told Kansas City workers it would close a plant there. Days later, it announced a nearly $700 million stock buyback plan.

https://www.vox.com/...as-city-factory

(Oh, and just to twist the knife a little bit . . .)
Meanwhile, Harley-Davidson is opening up a plant in Thailand, where it plans to start production later this year.

Oh, I am so embarrassed FOR the less-educated who fell for the trump bait and switch.

Trump suckers!

                                           :KOOLAID:

Too bad.

A new plant in Thailand?

What ever happened to "America First???"

Suckers fell for that too!

Vinny,  they interviewed an (ex)employee of Harley Davidson on NBC news last night.  He had worked there for 17 years.  He was pissed.  Lost his job, closed the factory, opened a new one in Asia, and they took the tax cut money and bought back stock which benefited the stockholders, which he was not part of.

His spot on the production line was screwing the fenders onto motorcycles at the end of the line.  Now he's the one getting screwed.  Not many job opportunities for a guy with 17 years experience screwing on motorcycle fenders.  And amazingly, he still supported Trump.  Maybe they should be called Trump-chumps now.  His support is basically irrational.

Thanks for your insight.

Methinks that they are woefully embarrassed to admit they were taken in by this egotistical psychopath.
An honest person would admit they were duped and redouble their efforts to be more discerning in the future.

Many (unbelievably!   :lmaosmiley:   ) would rather double-down on stupid.
Perhaps it's a self-image thing.

We are in this boat together.

We all suffer when one moron drills holes in the hull.  :deadhorse:

Mays, the more I interact with you the more I see that you are very uneducated in history......  Time will tell, and it will be on my side of the story I am pretty sure.....  But keep watching CNN and MSNBC to give you your  guidance.   And pay attention to Tio Vinny, that is you in old age.........   Just my prediction again.  And Kool Aid, well, I think the left has the corner on that market.  So happy that Trump is your POTUS and will be for another 6 plus years from now....!   MAGA....!  Chris

hahahahahahahahah my little brother Chris, once again your comedic timing is impeccable. You really need to consider a career change. FYI.... many places have open mike night, you should try it!! You accuse me of watching CNN and MSNBC for my guidance... Don't be such a hypocrite.... better be getting on your little Daddy for guiding the US based off opinions from Fox and Friends. How many people has he brought on that have worked for Fox??? Yea, TONS and TONS of experience there.

And it looks like Kim Jong Un played Chump boy like a fiddle. Who didn't see that coming???? You! "Call Me!" Bartender... another shot of Kool Aid for my friend, he needs it!

Funny how you progressives never even blinked an eye when Obama brought in massive amounts of liberal reporters from all the networks and newspapers....?  And then they went back to their old jobs in the MSM.........

The Media's Democratic Ties

https://www.realclea...ies_135794.html

During the Obama Administration, many members of the media floated in and out of the administration and in and out of left wing blogs and think tanks. They are still around with many of them serving as reporters and their leftwing friends as active members of the Democrats' "resistance."

There is a pretty substantial symbiotic relationship between the political left in Washington and the media. While a few people went from the media to the Bush Administration, it was never like it was with Obama.

Jay Carney went from Time to the White House press secretary's office. Shailagh Murray went from the Washington Post to the Veep's office while married to Neil King at the Wall Street Journal. Neil King has left the Wall Street Journal to work for Fusion GPS. Linda Douglass went from ABC News to the White House and then the Atlantic. Jill Zuckman went from the Chicago Tribune to the Obama Administration's Transportation Department. Douglas Frantz went from the Washington Post to the State Department and Stephen Barr went from the Post to the Labor Department.

Ruth Marcus, who heads the Washington Post Editorial Board, is married to the Obama Administration's former Federal Trade Commission Chairman. Jonathan Allen had been at the Politico before going to work for Debbie Wasserman Schultz, then back to Politico before going to the left leaning Vox. Now he is at NBC News. Andy Barr worked for the Politico before leaving for Democrat politics. Michael Scherer was at both Salon and Mother Jones before going to Time. Laura Rozen was at Mother Jones and the American Prospect before Foreign Policy magazine. Even Nate Silver had started out at Daily Kos. Then, of course, there is Matthew Dowd, who worked for scores of Democrats before working for George Bush. That, though he later washed his hands of Bush, bought him street credibility with ABC News to become its senior politically analyst alongside George Stephanopoulos, formerly of the Clinton Administration.

I swear. I'll never understand you lefties preoccupation with what other people/companies make.  Don't like it? Start your own damn company. Pay your workers ridiculous sums while trying to remain competitive. Your will compassion will huty them worse when you are insolvent and all the jobs go away.  So many times it seems the "compassion" of the libs is based on forcing someone else to subsidize their agenda...

17 years and the best he could do is screw on the fenders? Barely better than a trained monkey.  Even at that, at 19.00 hour for assemblers, he should do fine with Wisconsin's cost of living. A 1 bedroom apt is  only 600 dollars there.  And he wasn't a stockholder in the company he worked for? Why not? HD would match 25-50% of 401 k contributions (up to 6% of wages). I would love to have that set up (as I have to supply ALL my contributions).

And you're right, not many HIGH PAYING jobs for a guy that screws fenders on. NOR SHOULD THERE BE. Step your game up son!!  17 years and you are still the fry cook of the assembly line.

A Harley Davidson made in Thailand.  Think about it!  It runs on Jasmine rice and fish sauce.  The badass bikers will love it.   Pink streamers off the handlebars will look good too.

They will definitely take a hit.  Most HD riders I know are intensely patriotic. Although, to be fair, they already have manufacturing in Brazil, India, and Australia.  Then again, they still have several factories here as well as their corporate and financial headquarters, product development facilities, and museum.

Or you could buy a Victory cycle. or Indian, both made in Iowa (American company Polaris is the owner of both).

Or you can just get out and ride regardless of the brand. I have ridden Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Laverda and Ducati (only once).  Street and dirt.  I would love an older military or police HD, a newer Indian or even something sporty (although I think I'm far more interested in cruising these days...) I would never own a chopper though.

I remember riding down Route 66 one day on my Honda and I was stopped for a light. A dude on the bus bench yelled "Get a Harley!"  I just looked over at him and said, "why am I riding while you're waiting for the bus?"

Can't we all just agree that motorcycles of any sort are great fun?

When Obama was destroying our economy, the Libs were silent. Now that Trump is in charge and doing very well, the Libs all of a sudden care about jobs. You Libs are amusing.

Yeah - fun up to a point.  They're also dangerous, mostly because of idiots in cars.  When you tangle with a car, even if you're right you still lose.  Neighbor was riding a bike with his wife going up I-5 near Shasta in 1999.  Pickup truck in front of him had a tire blowout and spun right into him.  His wife was killed instantly.  I sold my motorcycle when our first kid was born back in '83.

The libs haven't got the message yet, Aces. The politicians say whatever they have to, to get elected. Then there is one excuse after another why things get worse. Conservatives, on the other hand, know this and don't trust the politicians anymore; that's why they didn't vote for one in the last election.

The libs are hooked on the dream that everyone can have everything for free. Yeah, reality can bite, but adults should step up and take responsibility for their lot in life, not cry into their hanky that it's not fair. :boohoo:

More Trump successes:

Successfully trashed the Paris Climate accords  - something every other civilized nation supported.

Successfully trashed the Iran Nuclear Deal  - something every other civilized nation supported.

Successfully trashed the Trans-Pacific Partnership  - something every other civilized nation supported.

Successfully trashed DACA  - something every other civilized nation supported.

Successfully trashed the summit with North Korea  - something every other civilized nation supported.

Gee, he should write a new book: "The Art of the Dealbreaker."    :joker:
