Islands burgers were in the $8 to 9.49 range for regular cheeseburgers to specialty burgers but they finally include fries with the meal. They also offer the Big Wave burger, fries and drink for $7.95 which makes our lunch a good deal.

Good reviews guys and will skip my own report out because it would mimic yours. I will add that it was a decent burger (mine had bacon because, well, everything tastes better with bacon
), service was friendly and Islands finally got the clue for pricing and lunch specials.

Karen's is the MOST successful local eatery. This Bakery Café represents Folsom.
Maybe for cupcakes, cupcake, but not when it comes to cheeseburgers!

Islands.... When I was last there all our dishes were very salty... Not outrageously so, but not to my liking... Did you find their food more salty than the other restaurants?

I'm up for taking another long lunch to join the crowd for another burger tasting.
but I'm on business travel next week, tuesday - thursday (short trip to So Cal),
and the following week is turkey week, wednesday I expect to be driving to the state immediately north of us to visit my parents on T-day, driving home on Friday so i can assemble & decorate the synthetic Yule tree on Saturday and hang the lights around the exterior on sunday.
I would rather be Backpacking

For all the time some of us spend there, we never actually reviewed the burger at Manderes.
There were a couple of places mentioned across the river.
I'd like to try another indie lunch-counter type of place. Big Dip was surprisingly inoffensive.
