Feel free to join us.
We're gathering at 7:00, but that may include some non-playing friends, so games may not actually begin until 9:00 or so. Feel free to come later!
(Last time, we did a tournament buy-in for 20.00, with top three places paying. Haven't settled specifics with him this time around, but if we have enough players, I'm sure that's what he'll want to do again.)

Saturday, May 5 - Cinco De Mayo
We're gathering at 7:00, but that may include non-poker folk, so it may take a bit to get the game going. Come later, if you'd like. I want to start by 9, at the LATEST.
Tournament buy-in for 20.00 with top three places paying (amounts dependent on players).
PM me for directions if you need 'em!

We're working on that too! We were just going to do Jesse's birthday there, but not all of our friends are into paying $40.00 for something in Folsom when they don't live here and/or don't have dogs. (Plus, they like the chance to win the pot, you know?) Sucks, I know, but it's true, so best of both worlds for us that weekend. We hope anyway. (=

Looks like the non-poker players are either flaking or coming earlier, so the tourny will start earlier than later (probably around 7:30 or 8:00).
$20.00 buy-in, top three places will win money. Currently have 10 players confirmed, tentatively 14.
PM me for address/directions.

Tournament structure, same as we've been running it, as it seems to work well so far. $20.00 buy-in, top three places win money. Then dealer's choice after that. First time we did this we were done at 10:00. Last time, we played until 1:30. Come join the fun!

I host pretty often, and seeing the sunrise is pretty common for us.

Yeah, I think that the one in January involved one person winning most of everything and other people not being too happy about that. At the one in May, the chips were a little more evenly distributed, so the play went longer.
(Of course, I was coming off of Strep Throat and in my first trimester of pregnancy, so my play was CRAPPY. I definitely need to redeem myself this time around, so I hope there are a lot of people there for me to take money from.

It seems like hold'em games just don't last that long. When you mix it up and play just a good night of poker (baseball, jacks or better...trips to win, guts, acey-deucey, high-low-high, 3-card lowball, etc.) that the game can last til all hours.
If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball.

Yet you still tend to bow out early with empty pockets

Do you need help with anything? What type of snacks can we bring? I'll bring some wine...if anyone has preferences ( Cabs, Chardonays, Merlots, Ports, Zins), let me know!
