while its tragic, I hope it was a murder suicide, because that would mean that someone else, a fourth party, isn't at large. but even if it was a triple murder by an outside party, it sounds like it wasn't random. this is awful, but it doesn't make me feel any less safe. things happen, even in our little middle class bedroom community. remember that guy a few years back that killed his wife in Folsom and then fled the country? pressures build up. what a shame.

Murder-suicide suspected in Folsom deaths

Two women and a man are dead after their bodies were discovered Wednesday morning in their Folsom home.
"We did locate a handgun in the residence," said Folsom police spokeswoman Michelle Beattie.
"It does appear the the two older victims are Department of Corrections employees and it does appear to be a murder-suicide," she said, adding that the deaths occurred late Tuesday or early Wednesday.
The names of the three were not released, but neighbors and co-workers say the man and the older woman, who was in her 50s, were employees of the Old Folsom State Prison.
Each of the three had gunshot wounds and Folsom police said the weapon used was a small-caliber handgun that was "readily visible." Police would not describe the location of the weapon.
There were no signs of a forced entry other than a broken window that police smashed shortly after 7 a.m., when they found one of the women on the floor a short distance from the front door.
The second woman appears to be in her 30s and appears to be a victim, police said. The relationship between the three was not disclosed by officers.
Police were called by a co-worker, who said it as "uncharacteristic" for his fellow worker to fail to show up for work.
Upon conducting a welfare check, the bodies were found.
All morning long a steady stream of men and women dressed in state Department of Corrections uniforms were going behind the police lines to the house.
A correctional officer at the scene said two of the victims were co-workers at Old Folsom Prison, one a correctional officer and his wife, who worked in the medical department.
"(He) was a great guy. I've known him for lots and lots of years. I work with him and we're neighbors," said Larry White, who said he received a call this morning about the discovery of bodies.
The couple had recently purchased property in Tennessee and planned to retire this year, White said.
"Nobody knows what happened. It could be an accident, it could be suicide, but I don't think it was suicide because they were too happy," White said.

Odd question, but was the daughter of small stature or a dwarf? Just something I'd heard, but certainly not confirmed in any way.
