Aren't they though? I encourage anyone who is interested -- and doesn't need to drive or think or function for 24 hours -- to try one. Or two. Or three. Ouch

I included them because they just sound like the type of thing one would order if they didn't know any other more manly drink. It sounds like a drink for a guy in a 70's disco with a perm and a sock in his polyesther pants.
Also personally I can't help but recall years ago when I waited tables and two really lispy, effeminate gay guys came in and told me, "I'd love a tequila thunrithe."

Just out of curiosity - what do you drink Al?
me, I drink beer almost 90% of the time. But are you gonna say we're wussy's if we like wine too? cause if so then I'm a huge wuss cause I love wine... wouldn't order it at a bar but I like it with dinner. About the only other drink I ever order is martini's and margaritas

I don't drink a whole lot. When I do I drink mainly beer, but occasionally scotch, bourbon, irish whiskey, tequila or rum. And yes I do drink wine at times, mainly with a meal.

The flip side to that coin is that I know gay dudes (acquaintances) that drink beer like there's no tomorrow & one in particular who can drink a bottle of tequila on his own straight up, so I'm unsure where we're headed with this conversation

Did you guys happen to catch "The Little Ice Age" on the History channel? It explained the roots of beer production and drinking vs. wine consumption. I guess that most Americans are beer and other grain (whiskey, etc.) brews rather than wine...unless you're on either of the coast where wine consumption is larger than in the US interior.
Yeah...and I know I'm coming off like Cliff Clavin from Cheers.
Out.

Agreed - I don't really care what people think about what I drink. Of course, I do all my drinking alone in a dark room when no one's around , so it's never really been an issue.
BTW - if I were a Southern Lutheran, the punchline would be "that's not because I'm an alcoholic, it's because I'm a Baptist", but since I'm not a Southern Lutheran, I'd be out of line to say that.
