First Darth, my name is not Pedro...And of course, you aren't Darthvader...maybe you are hiding behind the Darth mask because you seem to be prejudice against Mexicans..If you keep personally attacking me I will contact the admin again....Like I said before, you think that there are no people of color that can be true Americans... you wouldn't talk to my face like you are doing on these posts... It's not my problem that you try to bring illegal immigration into every conversation, even when it's not the topic...Discussing cultural difference is different than hate mongering, like you do....BTW, being family friendly has nothing to do with being over indulgent...you are too much!

Dave Burr, please refrain from calling names or I will report you too! In addition, this forum is to give your experiences and opinion...Look at the other posts where people complained about the bowling alley...I don't see you disagreeing with the other members....The reason I told him what happened is because I thought he could take the advice...I have never seen him at the bowling alley in all of the times I have been there which is maybe 3xs per year....Like I said, the bday party process needs attention....It's not easy trying to have a family friendly bowling alley and a casino and bar at the same time and have those two populations happy with their experience.

I am getting so confused!!! Both you and CHippyroo have the golf ball as your avatar so I thought your posts were chippyroo...I'd suggest changing your avatar so we don't get you confused...P.S. Darth is harmless...so is Daveburr....it takes time to warm up to them and vice versa...don't get bent outta shape they tend to attack everyone!!!

They might be hiding behind screen names, but it seems to me like your hiding behind the admins. That sounds like a 1st grader, you just threatened to tattle. Your complaining that they are picking on you for your post maybe that is because the other posts were said constructively, your post was trying to cut them at the knees. It was not helpful, just rude.

Yes, overall the place seems pretty dirty, and I would be nervous ordering food there. Wonder what grades they get on their health inspections?

So by your account a man physically assaulted her in the parking lot of another business while she was in the car and no one called the police?

If I recall, it was:

By the way, perhaps it's just me, but I don't expect bowling alleys to be sparkling clean and all "Disneyfied." Bowling alleys usually are a little grungy, serve beer and have that "old" feeling about them. That's part of the charm.

I've been to FLB several times, and thought it was a nice bowling alley, and certainly never had any problem taking my kids there. In fact, my son's going away party was there, and my daughter had a birthday party there.

With all the big chain retailers and restaurants, isn't it nice to have a family owned bowling alley with some shred of character?

Yep she was sitting in the limo...on the seat with the door open and her legs hanging out...He grabbed the bottle of alcohol and poured it out! After that my sister said why did you grab my bottle and pour it out? She then said bounce back to your parking lot and secure that area...he grabbed her arm and forced her entire upperbody to the floor...3 other FLB employees came over to get him off her!! The police were not called by my sister because they had been drinking and although they were not drunk...you can still be arrested for drunk in public...She did not go back to talk to management because she was scared and did not want to have the chance that that monkey was some type of boss there. So she has never gone back..Which is sad because we use to go a lot! And she tells everyone to not go...We were talking about it yesterday..She joked and said thats why there parking lot is empty when you drive by because her word of mouth!

back to the bowling alley, I remember back in the 60s and 70s, it was a fun place to go and bowl. It was well-maintained, clean, etc. No casino or bar atmosphere. I understand why they added that, since card rooms kind of became a hot ticket item in this area in the 1980s (pre-Indian casino days) and bowling had become a cliche.

now I think a lot of boomers would like to have a regular fun social experience that involved a little physical activity. Bowling, like so many other nostalgic things, is becoming hip again. if the bowling alley pays attention to a remodel that includes clean bathrooms, less greasy food, and a bright and hip bowling alley area, then it could be huge. I would do everything I could to keep the bar/casino (old Purple Place) feeling area separate visually and smoker-wise from the family area. entrances on opposite sides of the buildings, etc.

I keep trying to get neighbors to come with me and go bowling (probably because I remember how it used to be) and they look at me like I'm crazy. They feel its really run down. I have to admit I went in about a year ago and it seemed a little dull. The air didn't smell fresh either.

I love the Lake Bowl and want it to become a vibrant part of Folsom. It's part of our history. And it could be part of our future.
Knowing the past helps deciphering the future.

DBurr- In addition, this forum is to give your experiences and opinions...Look at the other posts where people complained about the bowling alley...I don't see you disagreeing with the other members...The reason I told him what happened is because I thought he could take the advice and I know several people who had the same bad experiences with bday parties...I have never seen Dan at the bowling alley in all of the times I have been there which is maybe 3xs per year....Like I said, the bday party process needs attention....It's not easy trying to have a family friendly bowling alley and a casino and bar at the same time and have those two populations happy with their experience. Also, there is no competition for a bowling alley in this entire area to Placerville...So, I suggest copying the one in Roseville that is family friendly...Just my opinion..

Did I say something negative about your post? I just asked when you were last there.... thats all - didn't agree nor disagree with you.

I've only been to FLB once, about 4 years ago and I was only in there for a few minutes, so I don't really have an opinion on the place yet (since they've worked on it), simply because I have not been recently - but kudos to the owners for trying to make it a nicer place.

Now to throw in my 2 cents, if you really wanted to talk to Dan and offer advice the best way to do that would have been to call him or stop by in person. Posting on the forum only accomplishes so much.. its much more effective to communicate directly with the manager via phone or in person.

I've been to Strikes in Roseville twice (only because its close to my work and we had a couple parties there) - it is a really nice new place, but keep in mind - its brand spankin new and you have to remember FLB's been around for a few decades, give them another chance - who knows... you might like it now.

You may be onto something there about a place with a Casino not being the right place to have a kids birthday party, but it is in town, they're making a good effort to make it better and you just have to keep things in perspective when considering what else is at a location you want to have a kids party at.

By Dan posting the updates and info about FLB, I'm more inclined now to go check it out, like I said earlier, maybe you should give them another chance - if for nothing else just so you can talk to Dan in person and see how things go

good luck

It may be unfair, but I do judge a public place/restaurant by how clean they keep the bathrooms. After all, if they don't care about the places (like bathrooms) that the public does see, then how do they keep places (like the kitchen) that the public doesn't see??? Sorry...that's just me.
