The 2007/2008 boundaries doc still only shows a subset of the Parkway as belonging to Oak Chan.
I know people a few houses from each other and their kids have to attend different schools.

What's the saying?... "strong fences make good neighbors."
As for property values - I haven't really compared with other neighborhoods lately. The lots in the Parkway are smallish - a trade-off for great common space. I'm guessing this factors into the perception. Also, HOA assessments eat into a buyer's total monthly payment, so within a limited budget (i.e., loan qualification), there are fewer $$ left for the property itself.

Yes, even satellite wiring colors matter. I have seen houses with black or white cabling running down their exterior walls in the front or side of their house because they were too lazy/cheap to run it under the eaves, run it in the back of the house and/or paint it so it blended in.
Some builders have already pre-wired satellite cabling in the attic so the homeowner really didn't have to run new cabling down their exterior walls at all.

Touchwood Parkway HOA has been dormant for a while...but in the recent past they have been a pain...we got some notices...we ignored...got some more...then an inspector came...to check our backyard and uttered..."Looks OK to me" ...didn't even bother measuring anything...has happened 3 or 4 times...so they have been nothing more than a nuisance

You will never regret Laura...overall it's a nice place call it a home. My quarterly HOA dues are 337.50 (u do the monthly math) and property taxes amount to roughly 5000 per year of which mello roos is 1100 or so.

Well there ya go - now we know why HOAs can be good sometimes...but, it can cut both ways and you just have to balance out the pluses and minuses and then decide for yourself..
At this time, I am staying put and feel good about that decision.

ARC's HOA just implemented new fines for this year

They also post the addresses of CC&R violators on their website

For what? Posting CC&R violations? It's public record and in the committee minutes anyway. They just put it on the website, too. They don't post names or anything personal, just address and violation.

What? I violated the rules that I signed on to and that run with my real property ownership, but if you dare tell anyone I violated them I'll sue??
They could only sue if a violation were posted that wasn't true, and then they'd still have to show how it harmed them.
