Very nice night tonite at the Back Wine Bar - tasted some outstanding wines from Mt Auckum winery and had fun hanging out with Stevethedad, Rosemary and his neighbor Scott the sports cooking guy

Afterwards went to The Ravine and found they were doing wine tasting there from DK wineries - also from the Fairplay area. Had a couple of very good appetizers and a desert that was paired with a chocalet port that was fantastic

What a great night out, learned all about two local wineries at two different places

I think I just found a new Weds night ritual....

Cheers
Dave

I'll join you and Ronda sometime, my Weds are open.

Sounds good, you'll like that place. This was our 2nd time there and each time has been fun and educational.

Lets plan on next weds if you can make it

Sounds great! Ronda's been asking how you've been, she'll be happy to see you.

Hey check this out (I'm going to start a new thread on this too)... The Sac Bee just unveiled a really cool wine review website thats all about our local wineries - this is a really great wealth of information about wines and all our local wineries in the nearby areas such as Fairplay, Drytown, and so on

Nice enough place - but 2 glasses of wine and 1 appetizer (Ahi Poke - good not great) and the bill with tip was $45...its pricey!

You must have tried some very good wines - some of it can be expensive but its worth it.

Jeff and his wife Gail really know good wines and carry very good stuff at their place. And Jeff's got the background and experience to support that biz, I've not met many people who have his level of expertise and everytime I go there I learn something new about about wines, which is something I really enjoy.

Going to the Back Wine Bar is really about tasting and learning about great wines, glad to hear you tried them out. Next time, try the cheese plate - its outstanding paired with the Cloudline Pinot Noir

I finally went to the Back Wine Bar last Wednesday after golfing. I loved it. Had the Sparkling flight. Very very good, loved talking to Jeff and am excited about his Tuesday night educational courses he's going to be having there. Also Sunday's from 2-4 he has special tastings $25 per person plus 50% off appetizers and Wednesday evenings he's going to be bringing in local wineries for tastings and if you do that tasting you get 50% off apps as well.

Definitely looking forward to going back.

Went to Back Wine Bar this past Friday Eve. The Patio is a nice touch and we saw a few people enjoying it.

We tried the C.G. Di Arie Zinfandel and the Mt. Aukum Petite Sirah.

While the C.G. Di Arie was a nice ZIN, the Mt. Aukum Petite Sirah was GREAT! We bought some to take home with us.

Thanks for the nice Wine Bar!
