I really hope you spoke to a manager. Someone should email their management team a link to this board. I bet they would really like this feedback so they can do something about it.

Just took care of that - hope they take the time to read the reviews and work on improvements.

I'm thinking maybe this place rushed to open way too soon?

We too, noticed that the Painting was only done to the front exterior - and didn't carry through to the back. Which is only obvious when you are sitting on the Balcony and see the long wall of the back of the building! We both noted, how they painted "on the cheap".

Sorry in advance, but this is going to be another harsh review:

Wifey and I stopped in for a quick dessert yesterday evening. Very disappointing. The service seemed lost and confused, not even knowing what was on their menu. The dessert we had (chocolate mousse torte) was boxed, frozen, and tasteless. To quote someone else, above, the atmosphere is certainly "cafeteria-like". The lights are all up high. They removed the center fireplace and instead have rows and rows of tables. Everything just seems cheaply half-done. The front of the building is painted, but not the back or sides. The flooring looks like discount laminate, with bathroom tile in the entryway. The bathrooms are untouched. Very strange, sad, and certainly not living up to the opportunity that location presents.

One work. Yuck.

Went there last night with my wife. Told there was a 10 minute wait for a table and offered to seat in the bar. We chose to wait for a proper table, in the bar. After 10 minutes, we finally were approached to take our drink orders. Another 10 minutes to get the drinks. Yet another 10 minutes before being presented with the bar tab (apparently they can't transfer the bar bill to the table!)

We finally get seated. Order the appetizer sampler. Good, but not great. Pretty common faire. Ordered a beer to have with dinner. A Pilsner (since they only have 2 out of 5 avail). The first taste of the beer brought me back to my youth. When I was a broke azz teen buying 3 12-packs for $10 of OLD STYLE (grenade-style bottle). YUCK! You call this a micro-brewed Pilsner? Puh-leeze.

Dinner was not good at all. She had pasta, I had a chicken dish. Pasta dish was bland, no seasoning. Chicken dish was SWIMMING in EVOO. We both ate about 1/3 of the dinner, and boxed up the rest.

About 3am this morning we both woke up with bad indigestion and heartburn. Tum, Tu Tu Tums!

I'm still burping up the taste of the meal.

YUCK.

I tried to stop them but I couldn't. My friends just HAD to check this place out even after I warned them how bad it would be. Just walking in I knew it would suck. OK it was hot outside but they had NO air conditioning on in the bar area. It was blazing hot. They were gracious enough to put a fan on the floor and point it upwards which did exactly nothing.

Then the "waitress" comes around after a while. She must have been new because she had to look at the menu to even have any clue as to what was on it. And then they botched 2 of the orders but that was expected. The pinnacle of the night had to be when she dumped an entire tray of the beer samplers (6 little viles of each warm, crappy beer) all over one of our guests. Direct hit! At least it cooled him off slightly. Then the "waitress" rolled her eyes when he asked to be comp'd for that since he didn't get to drink it, only bathe in it.

Check time was again a fiasco. Items on bills that we didn't order, etc. I am still in dis-belief that the place was as crowded as it was. However, everybody I know is now in agreement that the place is horrible and we will not return. I cannot see how this place has a chance but if people love terrible food and even worse service have at it. Good Riddance SuxWerks!

Wow!

It's actually beginning to sound like the "Cliffhouse" was the better restaurant.

After all these negative posts, I have to admit I have a morbid curiosity to experience the mediocrity firsthand.

I went again on friday and sat in the bar and got a table after about 20 minutes of sweating. The service was good enough and the food was good, but the heat was horrible. Couldn't believe that they didn't have air on in the bar. And it was packed so I guess people didn't mind at all.

OK, I'm getting concerned now. How long has this place been open? I thought that the owners of the Spinnaker would do right by the old Cliffhouse. (I enjoyed many happy lunches with my grandma at the Spinnaker in Sausalito).

My hopes for a happy anniversary dinner of prime rib overlooking Lake Natoma are fading fast...Has anyone been there this week? Has anything improved???

Thanks!

I heard a verbal review from someone who went last weekend. Still bad.

I wonder if anyone has yet to discuss these issues with the management there?

I emailed them the other day and suggested they take the time to check out the reviews on this site

can they really be that ignorant? if so, I predict they will be gone within 4 months, you can't float a place on a well known name alone....

without good service and quality foods -the place is worthless. I love good food and good beer and after reading all these bad reviews, I have no plans to ever drop even one penny at that place.

geeze its been a couple weeks now since they opened - thats plenty of time to improve on mistakes and make things better but it sounds like nothing is happening whatsoever to make any improvements

what a dissapointment because thats a primo location

My experience...Walk in and find a table in the bar for 7...wait...wait...finally flag down a gal after about 20 minutes. She takes drink orders and promises to return with drinks and menus.

20 minutes later...menus arrive....10 minutes later...drinks...place order and wait..

1 hr. 5 mins. in...begin to set up for karaoke right next to our table....1hr 15 mins. in manager asks if we would like to move as they plan on starting karaoke right next to us in about 40 mins. "No thanks, we are expecting our food soon and we will just eat and be gone" (He didn't get our sense of displeasure from that statement)

1 hr. 30 mins. in manager asks for move again, "No Thanks!"......1hr. 40 mins. in..same question....I stand up to leave (I'm done being subtle) and wife being diplomatic interjects "Okay then, lets move."

Sum total 2hrs. 30 mins. later I have just finished a burger that was sub par to anything at Islands, Red Robin, Burger King! and was standing at the bar trying to pay my bill that would have been a years supply of Whoppers! (Waitress apparently was "off" before we got our food!?)
