No Idea.... huh.gif

If you don't have one or two or three, I would recommend making the investment.
They aren't very expensive and if you ever are unfortunate enough to need it, it could just save your house and all of your belongings.
I would rather be Backpacking

Does everyone know where their home fire extinquisher is right now?? Does everyone in your family know where it is? Is it outdated?

If they were home and had a chance to put it out, but not the means, that would be really sad.

Someone was inside at the time and awoke to the smoke alarm and left safely. It was something related to a dryer apparently, but the explosion angle suggests that something in the dryer mixed with something else in the garage.

There was a young child living in the house, but I don't know the age so I can't tell you if the offers of clothing would be helpful. It sounds like people from the LDS church are taking the lead in helping the family (they also have relatives in the area), so if someone wanted to donate, they might want to contact someone at the church.

And Democrats in particular have a history of facilitating this obstructionism in exchange for campaign donations and votes." . . .Amanda Ripley re "Waiting for Superman" movie.

I have received a couple of emails this morning about the Hunts and their house fire so I thought I would pass along an update to this forum. The house was a total loss, but luckily nobody was hurt. Their local church congregation and extended family are working to provide help in the near term. They are assuring everyone that they are fully insured. Nevertheless, a bank account has been set up for anyone who might want to donate to help them. Here is the information, copied from one of the emails:

A bank account has been opened for those wishing to donate to help the Hunts. The Hunts asked that we make sure others are aware that they are well-insured and things are being covered nicely, but if someone wants to donate to the account, that is fine. (I am sure there are LOTS of little things they will need and won't think of at first.)

Those wishing to donate can do so by sending a check payable to:

The Hunt Family Fundraising Account, #925282
Golden1 Credit Union
1117 East Bidwell
Folsom, CA 95630

If they would rather do so electronically, they should use the Routing Number 321175261.

If you would keep this information handy to pass along to anyone who inquires about donating, that would help us.

It's awesome to see total strangers expressing concern for their "neighbors". The Hunts are a great family. Thanks!

I am a good friend of the Hunts. Their insurance company has been wonderful and most everything is being taken care of, but as you may suspect, there are lots and lots of things to replace when you start over from scratch.

The Hunts asked that we make sure others are aware that they are well-insured and things are being covered nicely, but if someone wants to donate to the account, that is fine.

Those wishing to donate can do so by sending a check payable to:

The Hunt Family Fundraising Account, #925282
Golden1 Credit Union
1117 East Bidwell
Folsom, CA 95630

If they would rather do so electronically, they should use the Routing Number 321175261

The Hunts also appreciate everyone's kind gestures, offers to help, and prayers.

See here for how to select and use a fire extinguisher:

Using a fire extinguisher improperly, or the wrong extinguisher, can put your life in further danger.
