I'm voting for mcCain/Palin, yeah. But come on dude, open your eyes a little.
And Savage is a whackjob bro. He occasionally makes a couple good points, but then he blows it all away everytime he goes nuts.

Obama is like a hologram, a light that eminates from an unknown location and then creates a beautiful illusion. Since so little is actually known about him, and this apparently even includes exactly where he was born, the average citizen, having been convinced that life is so miserable that some sort of a change is needed, will project their own beliefs and values onto the tabula rasa that is Obama. Never before has this society allowed such a demogogue to get so close to the presidency.
Why was someone who was not even born in the USA, allowed to be president? When we wont even let people (mexicans) come across the border and simply be a citizen.
I THINK WE KILLED SADDAM AND ELECTED OUR OWN SADDAM. Your Insight after reading what i wrote would be lovely. Anything ignorant i will not read.

Uninformed and uneducated people love an uplifting story from a charming personality, and they tend to lean towards supporting that personality without much in the way of real facts or proof of the personality being genuine. Hitler was such a personality....but his appeal was his strength, and not so much charm.
Political advisors help spin the image of a presidential candidate and coach him on how to act, walk and talk, to appeal to the masses, and win the favor of those people who think that is important in a leader. It's all very superficial and theater. And, it's been going on for a long time. Older people have learned to see though this type of facade and look closely at what is being done and said. They understand better that politics is mostly theater and spin. But, most young people don't listen to their elders about anything, including politics. So if it looks good and sounds good, they take that as fact most to time.
Obama leans strongly towards socialist ideals and has said enough to point to the fact that he intends to push those ideals in every way he can. Since this country was not founded on these ideals, most conservatives oppose his positions. Those who want to hand off their problems to a parental government strongly favor Obama. Their idea is that government should care for their needs at every level of life. These people are ripe to except communism, to relieve them of any decisions or life worries. They are willing to work, but want everything in their lives to just fall into place after the workday is done.
Government can and should place regulations on health care Insurance companies, because it concerns the public health. People should not be denied health insurance or be turned away because of a pre-existing condition. Insurance companies should not be able to ration health care, but either should the government. Obama talks in generalities and has not given enough details for us to be able to determine what his health care plan really is....he just wants us to trust him.
There is absolutely no proof that our government can take charge of health care and regulate the costs and services appropriately. They have never bee able to manage anything correctly in the past, so why do some feel they can now? Obama hasn't even figured out the math on the cost of his health care plan.....he is really going to play it by ear! And has said as much. That isn't the way to do business and isn't how one should proceed when taking on such a huge program.
It's very interesting that many liberals yelled about the war in Iraq running way over the cost projected by Bush and company, but feel that Obama is somehow magic enough to create a miracle, by managing our health care without having the same problems. But the magic words Obama used were, 'I'm going to rise taxes on the rich to pay for health care!' It's a very old ploy to make a common enemy with one's audience, in order to convince someone of a plan you want to get their support with. Everyone dislikes the insurance companies and knows the huge profits they make, but many also know that without regulations on these companies, that is what they are free to do. The whole system need not be taken over by government to correct it's abuses.
I'm just not convinced and feel Obama needs to show us some success else where, before he asks for our trust on this very important venture. Instead, he wants the trust first and he will give us the proof later. That's just not good enough for me.
Further, what will happen when other administrations inherit this overhauled health program? Will they manage it correctly or will funds from it be borrowed, like they were from Social Security?
We have many, many questions, and too few real answers. And basically, I don't trust government to run anything right.

You forget that the uninformed and uneducated people voted overwhelmingly for McCain.

I resemble that comment as I was a mccain voter and did so with all the study, wisdom and insight one gets with life experience.
its funny that the problems that obama has and will have more of in the future were predicted by the old soldier.
a lot can be learned to understand whats happening is a re-read of the childhood story I read to my kids about the "little boy who called wolf"

Did you mean "resent that comment?" Probably just a typo, still, I didn't say there weren't McCain supporters like yourself, I was simply disputing Maxine's comment that the "uninformed" tend to vote for "personalities," (like Obama.) There's no evidence supporting that fact, and Maxine should apologize for comparing Americans to Nazis.

Where did I say Americans were like Nazi's? Highlight the statement for me to see.

You seem to think you are more educated than most. Guess what junior, nearly everyone here has bachelors' degrees, just like you. Some of us have masters or professional degrees along with a wealth of business experience you don't have. And those of us with that education and experience you DON'T have voted for McCain because we had the benefit of history on our sides. We learned from the policies of LBJ, Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton (and even JFK and FDR beforehand) that the liberal point of view failed the U.S. economically, socially and defensively. We did not want to see our lives put in the very mess presently being created by Obama's policies.

1st, you are one of those who gets upset whenever Dubya is used as an argument - Dubya is not the president...Obama is...you say...but, you have no qualms in going all the way back LBJ....to make your argument.
2nd, Obama has been President little over 8 months and he actually inherited a mess after 8 years of Dubya that he's trying to clean....Obama's policies did not cause this mess.
3rd, you conveniently skipped the BAD recession and VERY BAD recession after 12 years of Raegan/Bush and 8 years of Dubya...how convenient....
I know that they teach how to BS in MBA class...

TOOK-er,
If you are really interested in learning: #1, don't vote until you're 25 OR own a business OR own land.
But read...read books like:
The 5000 Year Leap
Thomas Sowell's Basic Economics books
and I'd suggest the recent best seller, Glenn Beck's Common Sense. A lot of good information there with sources plus the original Thomas Paine's Common Sense.
Read "The Real George Washington" -- hell, read the entire "The Real" series...Thomas Jefferon, etc.
Finally, READ the United States Constitution and ask yourself if you believe in it and then seek out candidates who uphold it.

Yes, I recommend Dr. Seuss' Green Eggs & Ham and Shakespeare's Hamlet!

That's an excellent book, but I don't think it is as applicable in this situation as "Horton Here's a Who".
