Sorry, Candy Apple, but I have to correct a couple of your statements. I have been looking into the sites Kerri mentioned and will post some information on them when I get it put together. There are valid reasons why these parks are not good choices for a library site, but your claims that they are too small or not close enough to schools are not true.
Also, you are mistaken about Earl. He is a proud veteran - I believe he has a purple heart from World War II - but he made it clear at the council meeting that he opposes this veterans memorial and all veterans memorials. I don't know why, and I don't agree - but it's unlikely he's helping build ours.
Also, I know of only one instance where a library commissioner (not me) was told by a petition gatherer that she was being paid. And we have no information on who she was. But it doesn't matter anyway. That's all done with and we don't need to be bringing those things up now.
So long as residents want information on this library site choice, they should have as much as possible. But it has to be accurate. There's no way for everyone to be happy, unfortunately.

Thanks Linda for being accurate. I confess, sometimes I do get wrong information and speak from emotion and I agree EVERYONE needs the true facts that you and the other commissioners can provide. I hope all the true facts will help provide a basis for all to work together to get this library going instead of delaying it further. I apoligize!
