Ah. No worries mate. I was kinda tongue-in-cheek anyway.

Back on topic: I can't wait for InO Burger to come. I just love the simplicity of their menu -- they do one thing and do it well. It's a good value too. I like the 'old school' nature of their food.

Only thing -- I actually don't prefer their milkshakes. There is some funny aftertaste -- not sure what it is but it's kind of synthetic in nature. May be just my imagination. But also, it's too thick -- you need a spoon to "drink" it. I prefer my milkshakes to be ice cold but drinkable through a straw.

InO will probably be a popular place to meet my burger needs. There are other burger places I would go to: Islands, Chili's, etc. But InO is the only fast food restaurant I go to.

I want to try the burger at Folsom Bistro. Manderes is okay but honestlhy, I don't prefer their bun. I share the same sentiments as someone else who indicated that he like the bun to be softer, etc. I actually like tasting the grilled, juicy burger, mixing w/ some fresh tomatoes and maybe some cheese. I prefer the bun and condiments not be too distracting from that experience.

The Sac Bee usually has article about "Best Burger" once a year.

Yes. A litlte coincidental however, that it came out the day - two after a long thread in MyFolsom discussing the matter and that they had already done best burger joint already this year. It was in the ticket session discussing a 'good time to talk about the best burger joints' and mentioning a couple from the posting.

Not the first time I've seen it, but it doesn't surprise me. Mainstream media is the interet and thus Newspapers / TV get a LOT of news/opinions from the internet. CNN has a group of bloggers/reporters (ibloggers) devoted to gathering feedback from around the net and stories that air on the channel and website.

Back to topic however,

In-N-Out BLECH! I love em, don't get me wrong, but can we get a veggie burger?!

And can we get a Nation's (MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM)

Does Nation's still exist? I used to go to one when I was in high school. That location has long since closed and I don't know where they are anymore. I used to like them a lot but to be honest, I'm not sure if that was just because I was in HS at the time (for example, I loved White Castle when I was a kid but not sure they would satisfy me now). Where is one? Are they good?

Anybody know about Sonic? I've heard good things but never tried one. Anybody try the Kobe Burger at the Firehouse in Old Sac? I've always wanted to head over for lunch to try it out. I'm following the thread on Best Burger. Most the of the burgers around town are not bad but are not great either (in general, I say they'd rank around 7-ish; could be worse but definitely can believe there is something better out there). Until a great burger is located, In-n-Out, for me, provides a great balance of taste and value.

If my brain isn't too far gone... hhmm I think there was a Nations in Davis as well as one in Tracy off of Tracy Blvd. I have eaten there once and it really wasn't like the Nations I remember in Fremont for sure. I know there is also one in Valejo , but I wouldn't go there if I were you.

Oh well, I guess the Nation's I remember from San Jose is long gone. But Davis -- that brings back memory of the Grad Burger. Yummy (or maybe that's just the memory of a hungry undergrad).

Anybody ever try Ikeda's up in Auburn? I like their burgers and fries (and pies and shakes and a lot of the stuff they have up there). Maybe these comments are more appropriate for the Best Burger thread.

The Nations I went to was off Beryessa in san Jose like tsukiji.

Long gone. Went there up til the day they closed.

Last year or early this year they closed Davis.

I go to Vacaville (the closest one), San Ramon or Fremont (when in East Bay) or Berkley (when in the Bay Bay). Nations is awesome!

We had a Nations in Orinda, they were awesome, but then again Orinda had no fast food so anything was good for us.

I would love to see Sonic. I always go to one when i am in Oregon and Arizona on travel.

There are 2 Sonics in Roseville & one in Woodland.

The 10 closest to Folsom can be found here. Just enter the zipcode
I would rather be Backpacking

Being a Bay Area transplant, I grew up eating Nation's burgers. They are the best. Sure miss 'em. There's something about the way they melt the thick slices of cheese into the grilled onions.

Often when I go back that way, I stop at Nation's for lunch. My only gripe about Nation's is they have some of the topping proportions way wrong. WAY too much mayo and lettuce. Easy to fix though. I always order mine "light on the mayo, extra mustard, no lettuce, add bacon". Ohhhh yeahhhh!
