I'm sure the drug ecstacy has alot to do with it.

Not that I ever did that kind of thing. smile.gif

I remember my senior year there was a big issue made to the student body by teachers becuase of the use and selling of ecstacy on campus.

According to one teacher, it became an "epedemic" of students using E at or prior to going to a dance.

i, too, have heard the 'stories' about the drug use. probably is true, but i didn't want to believe that and the info wasn't coming from reliable sources at the time. unfortunately, THIS issue has my attention, and i wholeheartedly believe it is taking place!!

i understand that the dance area is usually very small at the school dances, with way too many kids crammed on it, thus creating a tight group of "dancers" in the center. i might guess the theory of a small dance floor stemmed from the smaller the dance floor, the less kids that dance???? i wonder if a possible solution might be, prior to taking away the dances, could be a HUGE dance floor, tons of room and if any type of tight circle started to form, it would be easier to see and get to/break up??? just an idea.

i am going to try and get my jaw back up where it belongs!

I saw several gaggles of kids gathering at a few homes before this event and let me tell you all the girls looked like $5 hookers. Dressed as described above, awful makeup, and all the ones I saw were really fat or too overweight for what they were wearing. Maybe that's why they were giving it up so easily? And the boys were no better. Punks with their baseball hats off to a 45 degree angle, baggy jeans, etc. Horrible scene.

Nice to know we have so many animals in heat roaming our streets and neighborhoods and dancefloors.

What do you think your mother thought of your parachute pants?

No doubt. I'm sure not too many parents/"old people" were very pleased to see so many young girls dressing like Madonna, either.

Anyways...to the topic at hand, I guess I shouldn't just dismiss this as the exaggerated BS of a bunch of teens. Pretty crazy stuff.

My daughter went with a group of nicely dressed ladies and gentlemen. She had a good time and mentioned nothing like this. I'll have to ask her some specific questions I guess.

After every dance, there are rumors like this. Many don't pan out. A few do. Chaperones can't be everywhere at once, but freak dancing is not allowed, and it is broken up when discovered. At some school dances the chaperones have flashlights and can cover a larger area.

Any of you who have concerns are always allowed to drop by and check it out for yourselves. We've gone to dances (as parents) and just walked through and looked around.

Nice to know we have so many moronic animals in heat roaming our streets and neighborhoods.

You can't add emphasis to someone else's post! That's just cheating! Your bold is nauseating enough, but don't go adding it to others comments...

This is so gross. Why don't they go outside and do it in the bushes like we used to?

I was at the dry cleaners a couple weeks ago and a young girl had brought in what I thought was a cute top and asked that her "dress" be hemmed up an inch and a half.

I'm so behind the times. I always thought they put the protective tarps on the gym floor before a dance to protect the wood from high heels and scratches.

Dances were crazy when I was a teen, I can not believe they'd be better now then they were then.
