Ya, doesn't work here. I would just drag you by the ear and give you a lecture on what is appropriate and what is not (something your mother or life experience should have thought you).
So the whole "put a red sock in the white laundry so you don't ever have to do laundry again idea" would never work.

I work for money, my wife works for money.
I do my own laundry and quite often my son's.
My wife does her laundry and more frequently than myself, the towels & sheets and stuff.
We both cook, we both do dishes, we both vacuum (but not as often as we should).
She does the dusting, I do most of the outside chores and I do the car work.
I do all of the sewing, why my wife can't sew a button back on her jacket is beyond me, but oh well. she does wipe down the kitchen better than I do.
I would rather be Backpacking

Hi Everyone,

The city called me first thing this morning. The man who called said that the water is almost certainly safe, but he would like to come and take a sample just to be certain. He said that often the water does get more stagnant this time of year because people are not using their sprinklers as often. Although he seemed a little surprised I don't live on a court becuase it is more common on a court. I will keep you updated and let you know what happens from here. The odor is not as strong today, but it is definitely still there.

Thanks for all the info on water filtration systems. I have been meaning to research that for some time and I plan to read this thread more carefully later. I have the kiddos to corral at the moment.

Yep, sounds like selective incompetence to me.

Would being a smoker influence this? I can't imagine having a sensitive sniffer with a puffer.

just an FYI....

the City of Folsom water report states the Chlorine levels run between 0.9 - 1.3 mg/l with the avarage of 1.1 mg/l. The recommended chlorine level in a pool is 1.0 to 2.0 mg/l or PPM.

I don't know about you, but I don't want to drink my pool water.

I agree, and I have a pool and have never smelled the chlorine in it like I can smell the chlorine in our tap water.

Ewwww, our water smells bad today. Since it's the weekend I'm guessing we have to wait until Monday to talk to the city about it. Is anyone else experiencing stinky water or are we just the lucky ones? Is there a way to talk to Folsom utilities before Monday?

This is no emergency. Don't call 911 or Folsom PD.

Go to Mexico for a week. You will love our water when you get back. Or, just go to San Diego, and you will really see how bad the chlorine smell can be. It is like drinking pool water down there. Our water here in Folsom is very good. If it smells a little strong, just be glad that it won't make you sick, like most other places in the world. We take it for granted, and we get a little spoiled and whiney.

You don't even have to go as far as Mexico or San Diego. Go to LA and taste the tap water. We know we have good water here, so it's okay to ask why when things change because we'd like to keep it that way. I don't consider that being whiney and spoiled.

plus, do some searches on the side effects of chlorine. it might change your mind. the good part about our water is its not that hard compared to many other areas around us like Elk Grove and Davis.

I don't think Folsom adds fluoride to their water. I'd be just as concerned about that as chlorine.

Bill Z is correct. Folsom does not add Fluoride to the water supply at this time. Do not be surprised if they do some day. West Sacramento does.
