UUUmmmm,

I have downloaded the demo version of Sony Vegas Platinum Pro. I am slowly going through the HOW TO sections. I may be in my office for a while! Never have I done any editing. so all very new to me. A little foreign to me. Yes, it is looking like it will be time-consuming.

I'm tellin' ya, M.E.G., download a trial of Pinnacle Studio 12. I think you will find it much easier.

So tell me, what is everyone doing with this video editting software. I take all of my videos and copy them from the camcorder to a hard drive on my dvd recorder (not computer equipment) that is connected to the TV. I can then create a playlist (basically editting out blank spots or unwanted footage), then I can copy the playlist from the harddrive onto a DVD-R. Then if I want multiple copies, I take the DVD to my computer where I can quickly make multiple copies to send to the grandparents. What kinds of things can you do with video editting software on the computer?

Who makes the god-awful bumpers and promos though? And who the hell is running the live production at the studio? My wife and I watch FOX40 News because its the greatest comedy out there. The production errors and bad editing is absolutely hilarious. In fact, the editing there is so bad that one of my favorite in-show games is to predict the segment clips shot-by-shot. And then sometimes there's just one big WTH moment with the clips and I'm really thrown off. The anchors do fine, but what the heck is going on behind the curtain there?

Good Lord. Terrible newscast.
