the location is at the end of Flower Dr. I believe the middle school track backs up to this part of the neighborhood. Nice!

10 is too young to supervise a 6 year old and a two year old!
Supermom... what are you thinking?????
Absolutely no one has said that the 10 year old watches the 2 year old.
This is merely suggestive--by the wording of another persons post.
What are you thinking?
The article said the little girl was asked certain questions --she contacted her mom.
After her mom took over was when the pics were sent......
Nice how this thread has gotten so out of control.
Nice neighbors this lady has....

You're insane. Those of us with first hand experience see these things happening. The fact that we see these things and are concerned makes us GREAT neighbors. You are a typical lemming of the news media. No mind of your own to think with. Just let the information flood your brain and believe its true. Don't worry about facts... we dont need those!

This situation highlights exactly why responsible parents these days keep their kids close. This sexual predator lived right down the street. Without a doubt there are other predators who haven't been caught yet...in all or our neighborhoods.
I'll venture a guess that this poor little girl was not selected at random...it would be very interesting to know how he got the girls number in the first place (if it was in the news story, I missed it. )
I would love to live in this neighborhood! The fact that the other neighbors noticed that the kids were by themselves a lot means that they were paying attention to whats going on. Fortunately I've got the the same type of neighbors.
Supermom--I don't mean to add to the tension filled comments headed your way, but I don't understand exactly what it is that your upset about. The media tried to build this mom up like a hero...and it would seem like the reality is that the little girl dodged a major bullet in spite of her mom, not because of her mom.
This guy is a violent sexual predator.....what if............????????

Oh please, give it a rest. Today's children are coddled, wussified wimps because parents have bought into the media terror that EVERYONE is OUT TO GET YOUR CHILD.
It is no more dangerous, and probably far less dangerous, out there today than when we were growing up.
The tighter you hold your children, the more they will slip through your fingers.

You're right. But I'd like to bring up a couple points which are raising red flags all over the place:
1) I find it hard to believe a 3rd grader is doing a report. Anything is possible I suppose, but it seems sort of overkill for simple 3rd grade curriculum.
2) Why is said "report" being researched a week before school lets out for summer? (This incident happened within the last week or so). Ask any teacher, the last thing they want is more work to grade as the year winds down.
3) Why was said "research" unsupervised?
4) How could the pedophile who contacted this girl just happen to live .4mi away?
These points are suspicious and should probably be looked into further by some sort of investigative authority. The mother has her story, but I wonder how much of it was just to cover her poor parenting? I suspect her daughter was merely surfing the internet for entertainment and wasn't being watched. Plain and simple.
I dont need to live near this family to figure out something major is missing from this puzzle.

My kid can beat up your kid!!!

...but seriously, its not as bad as the media makes it out, but there have been a LOT of sexually related offenses over the past few years here in the local area. If your not aware of them that's a shame.
Whether you want to believe it or not...there is most likely a predator very near all our homes just waiting for the chance that one of us slips up.
You do what you want...I'm gonna make sure its not me.

I understand your questions. I don't let my 11-year-old roam the Internet. If he wants to go to any Web site he has to ask us for a password. That includes if that site somehow directs him to another site. Basically, it means I have to be with him for him to do research on a report, which is fine with me.
