Lots of folks were buying food, but it seemed that again, it was mostly hot dogs and sausages.
Good crowd. Kids well-behaved.

The dinosaurs were cool.
Music was all over the place - a good thing.
Noticed that teens have taken to hanging out at the parking structure. Must be 'cause of the crackdown at Castle Park

Hey Mando!
I saw you talking to John, but by the time I got over there, you were gone.
I saw another guy with an Azuar shirt on. Did you guys play tonight?

That must have been Randy, my guitar player. He was cruising the street with family.
We'll be playing at the gazebo later this summer.

Great comments, thank you. Yes, it is a big improvement over last year.
We really messed up last year. We let ourselves get pushed into a corner and had to make changes, but it all went wrong, partly because of getting organizing started late and partly because we didn't get some support we were expecting and we didn't have food and entertainment on the street. - it is a huge effort to make it really work.
Yes, we listened and the TNM coordinator is doing a great job.
A "real" Farmers Market doesn't work in Folsom. We did that three years in a row, each time with different farmers, and nowhere near enough people bought the produce to make the farmers successful. The farmers get up at 3 to 5 am and we expect them to stay until 9pm - it is a tough gig for them.
The Grocery Outlet is a whole lot easier because they have local staff and the produce is very fresh from the morning and they don't have far to go home. What is the difference between what they provided and a "real" market?
There is now entertainment throughout, food throughout, booths throughout, entertainment for small kids, teens and adults, spread out to allow each group to identify what is good for them.
Having a different theme each week is hard work, but it means you get to see different things all the time. The balloon exhibit was fantastic and as many people said, a bargain!
Each week, we're watching and listening and trying to make it better. Thanks for all the feedback, it is really appreciated.

I am so sorry that we missed the music ~ I was working late in the yard!
I really do wish that a Cajun/Zydeco group would play at Picnic In The Park sometime!
Steve ~ I'm curious! Where is home?

Although I was actually raised in San Francisco, we moved there from New Orleans when I was a kid. It's been a couple of years, but I still go back fairly often.

Daddy was born and raised in Eunice ~ we would go back to visit the family every couple of years. Unfortunately, I haven't been to Eunice for about 40 years but we did make it to New Orleans, three weeks before Katrina. I love the people, the food and the music ~ and miss it terribly!
