Two thumbs up here, Samuel Horne's is a nice place, I liked it.

The bar has a neat 30's-40's style retro look that works great for that building, it's small but it's big enough. The selection of beers on tap and in bottles was excellent and the food is pretty darn good too. I had the Johnny Cash burger cooked perfectly on a really good fresh bun with bacon, cheddar and a homemade bbq sauce along with fries mixed with blue cheese and bacon. The menu was very good and covered a good range of tastes, I can't wait to go back and try one of their shaved sirloin steak sandwiches. In addition to beer they also serve cocktails and wine.

here's a few pics of what the place looks like inside..

We had dinner there the other night. I had the veggie panini and it was was an A+++++! My hubby had the bacon cheesburger. He loved it as well. Good atsmosphere, nice owner - we'll be back. smile.gif

What about kids? If we go for lunch or early dinner, is it a place where kids could come with? We have taken them to Manderes for lunch with no qualms...

There's no reason not to bring the kids. There's just limited seating. It's a smallish menu, but with hamburgers and hotdogs I'm sure there's something a picky kid could eat. There were several people in the under 15 crowd there the last time we went.

I picked up a to-go menu. Looks about the same as the regular menu.

Dav - you forgot to mention for DarthLefty that the burgers come with a good sized pickle!

Agree with your review - it was a tasty lunch. The only think I needed was lettuce and tomato on the burger for that crunch and taste. That French dip or steak and peppers sandwich sound great...gotta try it next time.

Bill, this doesn't really seem to me to be a takeout place, even if they have a takeout menu.

To be more accurate it's:

$4.75 for a large plate of Fries (appetizer size, not mcdonald's bag size)

$6.75 for a large plate (appetizer sized) Fries with chili and cheese or Blue cheese and bacon
