However, the proposed hotel across the road is no April fools joke. And while it would not close the existing trail or cut off access to the lake, it would potentially prevent construction of the bike path along the light rail tracks towards the Automall, and would have the same impact on the Chinese Diggings as the fake one would have had on Lake Natoma.

There were some hints, like the entire second page of gobbledygook, particularly the reference to the economy in Indiana, and the fact that they were planning to start construction in 2010, yet, for those paying attention, there had been no evidence of any megaproject going through the city approval process.

But I was still concerned...

the First Clue was the use of the OW.ly website to hide the true one which would have shown Myfolsom...

LOL this did sound a little extreme (I was thinking how can they get away with closing a bike path for over two years). I was about to say it's a bummer how the old school/rural feeling Folsom started dying about 1999.

In a way I feel silly for being sad about something in an area I don't even live in anymore (though I guess it's a combination of nostalgia in general for the way things were, and a sign of the current times).
