Holderness ran for City Council on a no growth/slow growth platform. (I voted for him because of that stance) Once he got into office he pretty much threw that all away and saddled up with the developers (IMO). It appears to have served him well since after he left office he has been the attorney for a variety development projects in the city. Seems like City Council members just fall all over him like he is the guru of development in Folsom.

I just wrote our Mayor as well. What a farce. I will never vote for Miklos, Morin and Starsky if they choose to run again...Term limits for city council members sure has a nice ring to it.

Sounds good. Term limits might be easier to get in than voting someone out.

I hate to get on my Soap Box.

So I won't, I'll keep it short and sweet.

1) Have never had a good dealing with Miklos. He has out and out lied to me and other people on issues and I hope someday soon that he is out of office. Frankly, in my humble opinion, he would vote yes on anything that would benefit his pocket book or allow him to keep up with the jonses. (not what is good for Folsom)

2) Thank goodness at least some people in the city still have some sanity left. (Kerri) As for the those that voted yes, I really need to move across the street from my Orangevale Address to Folsom and run next election time frame. A trained monkey could do a better job than people like Miklos and you can quote AND print that.

Did Miklos ever apologize for his inaccurate rant against the superintendent of FCUSD a few months back. Miklos and his brother are a couple of gasbags!

I've had dealings with Miklos where he lied dealing back to 2005/2006. Join the club!

Lots of irrational emotion being expressed on this topic. I watched as this particular project was discussed and it is a project that should go forward as it was presented.

Can you define both the irrational and why you think it should go forward ?

Given nearly 100% negative public input and no rationale by those that voted for it - it still smells like developer money and power over those that voted yes...

Care to expound on this ?

Cheers

Is this a trick question?

My answer, they have never represented US, they only represent their own self interests.
I would rather be Backpacking

I've lived in Folsom since 1992 and it sure seems like Miklos has been involved in local politics almost as long. The rest of the country is beginning to get tired of incumbents and it's been reflected at the polls. It's time Folsom starts thinking about jettisoning these incumbents. Enough of the three....On the other hand Ernie is fine and has done alot for our community and I trust him, and should get a second term. And it's good to have Kerry on the council as well.

you miss a basic rule of folsom politics...the person with the most signs wins, and usually a couple of straw candidates show up to dilute the vote..often thought they were selected and paid by the incumbants...

Incumbants RARELY ever get beat in an open election. Too many challengers split the vote and the incumbants lean all those who have financial interests before the council for donations.

I only see one way of making elected officials become more accountable to the general population.

First we need to change the system on how one gets elected to the council by having numbered seats and by having a primary. To get elected, the person must get 50% plus one vote in teh primary or there will be a run off between the top 2 for that seat.

It would be best to get the current council to adopt this system, instead of trying to do a charter amendment. There might be some willingness to do this on their parts.
