I'd vote for Robert - we need more tension in the city hall

I would vote for Kerri again without a question.
I would like to hear more about Mike K
If Michael Gordon is in the running again - I would certainly NOT vote for him

Wonder if any others will join the race

I ran into Michael Gordon a few weeks back and he now lives up in El Dorado Hills.
I also met Mike Kozlowski last week and came away quite impressed with his eagerness to really make a difference ( I know what politician doesn't) but I had a good first impression. Check out his website at www.mike4folsom.com The city council needs a shake up and a wake up call and maybe Mike K is the one to do it. We won't be able to replace all 3 candidates this time around but we need to start somewhere and why not try to unseat the one who's been there longest, Mr. Miklos. Incumbents beware..

It hasn't? Is this water going towards this project?

http://www.msa.sacco..... Services.pdf

From What I've been told NOT all the conditions of the agreement have been fullfilled. This gives the City of Folsom a valid reason to rescind this agreement and get a MUCH better deal for the residents of Folsom!

Hopefully Everybody on the forum understands that the water isn't really going to Aerojet per se, but to Easton and what developer is building Easton?

I'm scratchin my head trying to figure out how sending our water to Easton is in our best interests?

I can't figure it out either. Especially since the agreement would put us in a water supply shortfall with buildout per the document I found below (pg 2) Maybe that's a good question for candidates.

QUOTE (Kerri Howell @ Jun 21 2010, 10:04 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I almost forgot - there was a committee that was convened about 9 or 10 years ago, if I remember correctly. The committee was tasked with review of the City Charter, and it was formed because I requested it. We discussed many, many items. One of those was whether we should change the Charter to include term limits. At that time, most of the members of the committee (and there were about 15 people on the committee) did not think term limits were a good idea. A number of suggested changes to the Charter were then forwarded to the City Council and the Council voted not to incorporate any of the suggested changes. There were about 10 changes that the committee wanted to make, and for those changes that I supported, I lost on either 4 to 1 or 3 to 2 votes. At that time, the Council members were me, Cyndi Dow, Erik King, Jeff Starsky and Steve Miklos.

Was there a vote for term limits for the city council?

Are you supportive of term limits for the city council?

That's a staff report and not the actual agreement. Aerojet was supposed to pursue an amendment with Sac County. Since they haven't yet , any one of the parties can cancel agreement.

Thanks, Redone. I guess the question is now that we know they can, will they?

5-0 vote last time (yes, everyone) so I don't see why they would arbitrarily do it.

Section 2.5 (b) The City plans to : pay the costs for this program with water rates charged within the City's ENTIRE SERVICE AREA.

Section 2.5 © The City plans to : implement a water conservation program throughout the City's service are when available water supplies exceed water demand.

To the layman , it sounds like we give away good water, get to treat contaminated Aerojet water in return, use less for ourselves, and then pay more for it. Sound good ?

Amen, Somebody else gets it, except we aint getting the treated contaminated water YET!

Lets connect the dots to understand why this happened. Who is the developer for Easton, the one who will profit from this deal?

The City Council GAVE away our Water from the American River so Easton could be built at the expense of the Citizens of Folsom!

Why is ANYBODY supporting any incumbant who did this to you?

No, it sure doesn't. Isn't this considered part of the SOI area? Wouldn't that violate the whole north of 50 part of Folsom paying for the SOI water supply in Measure W?

The above article states:

"Measure W, approved by Folsom voters in 2004, precludes any development in the annexation area if it reduces water supplies or increases costs for current city residents." So the costs of this particular water deal aren't supposed to be passed on to current residents.

Easton Place/Glenborough is west of Prairie City , not in SOI .

Folsom is still the water provider and was initially sued by Golden State who provides water to Rancho Cordova.

I understand that now, but the bizjournal article was about a water source for the annexation area, which is in the SOI, not GenCorp's property.

Folsom is still the water provider and was initially sued by Golden State who provides water to Rancho Cordova.

I guess I'd like a candidate who is more interested in making sure current residents have an adequate water supply rather than helping developers make money.
