HAHA! Cmon dave, really? Are you turning a blind eye to the 49ers performance? Raiders were terrible yesterady I agree, but your 9ers were even worse.

Hahaha without a doubt the 49er's sucked really bad too - I was just still laffing too hard at the Raiders when I posted that..... gadz we have bad teams here....

Granted, NorCal teams for the most part are horrible right now (save for my Giants), but we are home to the most dominant athlete on the planet:

Joey Chestnut, who just set another record, this time for most burritos consumed. Our teams may suck, but no other region can fall back on Joey Chestnut... just sayin'.

The play calling in Sunday's first qtr was horrendous and shows Singletary is more of a defensive coordinator than a head coach.

On a more upbeat note, HOW ABOUT OUR GIANTS, tied for first and the dreaded Dodgers coming to town. Now is the time. GO GIANTS

Remember though, that Singletary isn't calling the plays. That's Jimmy Raye's job. The failure of the pass on 4th and 1 was a combination of Smith putting too much on it and Norris not running where he was supposed to. Had they scored that touchdown, would things have been different? We'll never know. One thing's for sure, they learned that to win the game you gotta play the game. They looked like they were in shock out there that they were getting beat, like someone had told them they were supposed to have it easy.

As for the Giants, they are fighting for it. Lincecum look in total command of his pitches these last 3 starts. In fact, all of our pitchers have performed well lately. Only 2 losses in the last 7 games, and they lost 1-0 and 3-1.

What a time to get hot!

New sign at the 49ers office:

QUARTERBACK WANTED - WILL CONSIDER TRADES

Yes, Smith blew it, but the offensive line played terribly.

LOL @ bay area sports. The model for teams wishing to suck.

I really thought the Niners were going to do a lot better. It's only the first game though. My Cowboys didn't do squat either. Maybe next weekend will bring some wins.

I'm hoping the Steelers will get past Big Ben's 4 game 'stand in the corner' suspension. Here would be a good question.......what if the Steelers are 6-0 (puff puff pass,I know) with Dennis Dixon in as QB? Do you put a rusty Big Ben in because he's always been the starter, or do you go with what is winning at the time?

Why wouldn't the put Ben in right after the 4 game suspension? 5th week is bye right? So they'd wait until the 7th game to start him??

I think Dennis Dixon will do just find standing in the The Groper. In fact, as Dixon grows and learns, The Groper may find himself pressing when he gets back. Opposing crowds will be merciless on him... deservedly.

The game isn't over but it doesn't look like the Chargers are going be a great NFL representative for California either. Right now(3rd quarter) the Chiefs are kicking their butts. I sure hope the season gets better than the first week.

Check that. Down only by 7 with 2+ min and the 4th qtr still to play.

I meant to say 5-0. I'm really hoping they won't automatically start Big Ben just after his suspension, but bring him in slowly to hopefully get back up to game speed. If....and it is a big IF, they are undefeated, so to speak, I can't see bringing him in right away. Probably useless speak anyways, doubt the Steelers will even be 3-3 by then. Haha.

Steve,

Our Niners blow... and I mean BLOW! Who woulda thunk it?

Never liked Alex Smith, but Singletary is a horrible coach... great motivator but he is being exposed by his lack of ability to X and O. His choice of Raye as his O Coordinator is awful.

On the bright side, this makes it much easier to get outside and enjoy autumn Sundays.

I don't understand why Alex Smith is still here. How many second chances does the kid get? I just don't understand why nobody can see that the kid's not any good.

Yesterday may have been my last 9er game. Sad, sad, pitiful.
