It looks like we'll stick with head-to-head and I assume we're all checking the scoring & settings page to make sure you understand how the points are scored.
I'm assuming that everyone is good with a live online draft on 8/28 @ 11:30am? Again, feel free to gather anywhere or to enjoy the comforts of your own domain. All you need is a connection and a web broser. I'll remind everyone closer to the draft, but BE SURE you log in at least 30 minutes prior to the draft and test the yahoo draft room to be sure that you have no browser issue or problem with the java script.
We'll need our treasurer's address (maybe posted on the league message board?)so that we can send our $20 buy-in. It would be ideal to get all of them in before the 19th so that there are no money issues. As a general rule, if you don't ante up, you cannot draft. And I'd say PLEASE submit your buy in NO LATER than the 25th. Anyone not paid up by the 25th is subject to having their team deleted and replaced with a paying owner. I'm sure we're all good for it, but these are the kinds of things that must be mentioned ahead of time so everyone is on the same page.

Can I suggest setting a limit on "Max moves"? Say 10-15? I've been in leagues where managers who know little or nothing about football troll the waiver wires. Also, with managers out of the running early on, some may become poor sports and liquidate their teams. How about a "Cannot Cut" option as well?
I have to disagree with you on the waiver wire point. Fantasy sports IS ALL ABOUT utilizing free agents and making sure that you are doing your best to put out the best active roster you can, in your opinion, every week. I do not believe in max moves limits. And 10-15 moves? This is a 16 week fantasy season--you're going to have to manage your team on a weekly basis. You have to replace injured players, fill in for bye weeks, etc. Part of playing fantasy is being aware of the game and managing your roster according to the happenings in real life. Everyone has the same opportunity to pick up players and manage their teams.
Having dead teams by mid-season is just a risk in any league. Hopefully all of us have gathered in this league because we want to play and be active. We'll have bragging rights and $ involved, so if that's not enough insentive for any owner to stay active all season and maintain their commitment and the integrity of the league, then please consider that opt out now.
We can use Yahoo's default "can't cut list", but it goes back to the integrity of the owners. In addition, you must weigh the that Yahoo list option carefully because it's based on Yahoo's opinion, nothing else. So if week 8 comes around and Adrian Peterson is banged up and just completely underperforming while you're desperately trying to win, Yahoo will most likely keep you from dropping him just because his name is Adrian Peterson. In fantasy, it's not about a name, it's about "what have you done for me lately".
Thoughts from the rest?

We agree to disagree :-). Max moves makes it more strategic and you REALLY have to manage your team. Unlimited moves is like a free pass. It's bush league fantasy play. I don't expect it from you guys, as I'm sure everyone is above cheeky stuff like that. It's your league, so if that's how you want it set, then I am fine with that.

I'm interested in playing if the draft date/time can be changed, as I'll be at the Raiders preseason game that day. BTW, I've played FFB for many years and and am very familiar with how it works and most importantly compete to the end. I also have a buddy that is willing to fill the final spot as well.
Zim-
The draft is not set in stone quite yet, so sure--we'd love to have you and your buddy round out the league. Just so I'm certain you know, there is a $20 buy-in. 2nd place will get their $20 back and #1 gets the rest. But I assume you've read the thread and are caught up on what's going on.
Just send me an email at matt@grayfamilyfilms.com and I'll use you address to send the league invite.
Re: the draft, are you available later that evening, say 7 or 8ish?

Sounds good, I sent you a message a few hours ago. Looking forward to being crowned as MyFolsom's First Fantasy Football Champ!
Kurt,
Welcome to the league! I just sent the invite, feel free to forward it to your friend.
I changed the live online draft to Sunday, 9/4 at 11am. Will this work for everyone involved?

I'm tempted. I've never done a fantasy football team before because of the time needed to put into it, though anyone who knows me knows I love the competitive sports thang! It would be great to have you in the league! Maybe we could get CW to join too?
The first draft day didn't work for me, but the new one might. How longish does the on-line draft take?

Would be cool to have you in. We can expand the league if we can get 12. K Zimmer and his buddy make 10, so if cw68 joins we can open one more spot to make it even.
As far as the draft duration, it depends on how many teams. But count for two hours. We can set the clock to 90 seconds per pick. Though, obviously, you can queue up your picks ahead of time and select them before your time is up to move the draft along.

If you have never played before, remember its really important to try and get a good punter and back up punter in the early rounds before they are all gone.

I'm out then. Not going to spend two prime hours of Labor Day weekend sitting in front of my computer, gimme a lake or something! I'm too ADD for this stuff.Would be cool to have you in. Lets set the clock for 75 seconds or a minute?

Want to team up with me? If you put two ADD people together, we might be able to keep enough of an eye on this to last the year.I'm out then. Not going to spend two prime hours of Labor Day weekend sitting in front of my computer, gimme a lake or something! I'm too ADD for this stuff.
However, we draft with our heads, not our hearts... can't see any Bears that I'd want to take.

Yes, I believe the clock can be adjusted to preference. When we get closer to the draft we can select a time limit then.
