okay, what is really creepy is that he thought he was making arrangements with the guardian of the two minors to meet at a hotel to have sex with their kids. so he thought he was talking to a parent of someone who was going to let him have sex with their kids? now THAT's creepy!!!!

I read it as well. Except they did nit give an age of child.

Note-he is being charged for crimes against a child under the age of 16.

In the affidavit was an email from the perp to a Father (it was the cops) of a 13 year old girl and a 9 year old boy. In his email and explained in the affidavit, he thought he was arranging to watch and then maybe participate in the rape of the girl, and noted that he was actually more interested in the boy, and that he had sex with other boys under the age of 14 before. This was on the news tonight, and they showed the email.

I think that is what the Folsom PD wants to know too. That is why they are holding a special meeting for the parents of the swim team tonight at the police station.

speaking of the police, my hat is off to them for finding out about this. it doesn't sound like a kid came forward, it sounds like the police were doing good detective work trying to follow up on child porn and got this guy in their sites. I bet the officer or detective who had to pretend to be a man offering up his children for sex had to work very hard not to stick his hand through the phone and choke this creep. thanks to the police, our swim coach is going to be out of the water permanently.

But my general point stands, which is that there are degrees of wrongness. The extreme situation to make my point would be if a guy meets a girl at a motel for sex, the day before his 18th birthday and on the day of her 18th birthday. That would not be "child molestation" on her part, would it? I know it's a ridiculous comparison, but it's just to make the point.

Wow, that is much worse than I expected/hoped.

I guess I thought since he is so young and seemingly well thought of, he couldn't be involved in anything too terrible. That really is disturbing.

Yes, with the knowledge you had, it'd be creepy. I think you're trying to say statutory rape is ok because the 17 year old is pretty close in age to a 21 Y.O.
Any 17 YO girl who makes their first date with a young man at a motel, that's creepy or disgusting or wrong. Again even with the info at that time.

As always, we don't know the story , and now it's just that more disgusting. Still, think about what we don't know even at this point.
