I still have to disagree. It's about civil order. Sort of like this: if kids are hitting each other in a classroom, that's entirely different than if a teacher tries to break it up and they hit the teacher too. We have to have a higher respect for a law officer doing his duty, otherwise civil obedience breaks down and none of us are safe.
We may just disagree. I don't agree with the entire legal concept that assaulting someone is more serious if they are a different color than you, different sexuality, or wear a different uniform because it implies that its a less serious crime otherwise. Its wrong to assault someone and its not less wrong if they are not wearing a uniform, are your same race or sexuality.
