I admit to taking my kids to BWW (I still want to call it BW3, anyone remember them that way?) because I don't have cable and we are big sports fans. One time my son and I sat in the bar area because there was a long wait for tables and we were just watching the last quarter of the Wisconsin/Nebraska game (last season). I had iced tea; he had a lemonade. Then one other Saturday afternoon early in this year's season, I took my son and my daughter to watch a Wisconsin game. We sat at a table with very few people around, watched games, and played each other in trivia. I, again, had an iced tea, though this time we ate a little -- none of us like their food. It's not like every sports-minded person has to drink beer while they watch sports (though I don't always drink iced tea).
Where else could I go the few times a year we really want to watch a game, but can't at our house? Nowhere but bars and sports-themed restaurants. Y'all can judge me all you want; I know I'm a good parent.

I actually don't have an issue with kids in these circumstances, and it is the parent's responsibility to remove the kids if the atmosphere becomes inappropriate. I do take issue with sitting in a bar for hours, drinking refills (assuming that is the case) and expecting service with out really buying. Just because you don't want to pay for cable, doesn't mean that a business should have to supply you for more or less free. If you are going, be respectful of the business and staff; go somewhere where you can and want to buy a decent amount of food and beverage.

Really, this is the best you can do... May not turn out so good for you if someone takes you up on your offer.....I love it when other parents or non-parents try to tell others how to parent. I think I'll take my kids to the bar just to annoy you... and if you see me, say something and see how that turns out for you... (censored)s!

While I may disagree with your method of parenting, I would never tell you how to parent. I merely voiced my opinion that I think children don't belong in bars. You may disagree with my parenting choices, but as long as you aren't trying to tell me I should take my kids into BWW, then we each have our right to our own opinions. I hope you weren't accusing me of telling others how to parent (because I didn't), or challenging me "to attempt to tell you how to" inside an establishment. I would find that to be extremely rude to do so.I love it when other parents or non-parents try to tell others how to parent. Let me guess, you never participate in conversations with groups of people where the topic changes, goes off on weird tangents, etc. Do you complain to the others in a group at a party when the topic does change? I'm just wondering. It only took 3 posts for a topic about a new restaurant in town to become an argument about kids in bars. *sigh*
But back on topic sort of:
I went to BWW for lunch today as I was in town and WingStop hasn't opened yet. They had a new flavor I hadn't seen before, Thai Curry. Tried it, thought it was pretty good. Lookin' forward to WingStop opening, hope they do well. I heard they are now accepting applications.
