My position would remain constant. The diminishing of my inalienable rights by a government is far more of a threat to me and my offspring than a random wacko.

What if that random whacko shoots your offspring?

Now you've got a dilemma that you won't be able to rationalize.

A couple more things to ponder. The following graph makes clear that there is no correlation between number of guns and homicides.  That means that we have to figure out the PEOPLE that are using the guns for homicides. If you can figure out how to do that, I am all ears. The vast majority of murders are committed by (and against) young black men. They do not use scary "assault weapons." Only 2% of murder is committed with a long rifle, and the "assault rifle" is such a small percentage, that it gets lumped into ALL long rifles (which includes shotguns and hunting style rifles.)  Sooooo, if you are looking at how to reduce the 11,000 murders by gun each year, you would focus on keeping hand guns out of the hands of young black men. Hmmmm, that isn't Constitutional or politically correct, so what EXACTLY would you propose?  AND, if you are rushing to "do something" after this latest tragedy, explain how your solution would have stopped this(or any) mass shooting.

Nice, France, 14 July 2016, one 19 ton cargo truck, one man, the attacker killed 84 people instantly and injured 434.  52 critically; 25 remained on life support the next day; an 85th person died from injuries three weeks after the attack, and an 86th three weeks later.  On 17 July, 65 injured were still in hospital, 18 in critical condition. At least ten of the dead were children........

So Who_Dem, do we ban trucks next, maybe a ten day waiting period with an intensive background check before you rent a U-Haul................?  But then again you won't be able to see this or respond to it I am thinking...    Chris

There is no utopia where evil does not lie. Everything is a trade off. You do not trust your fellow man, and would (despite the overwhelming evidence that the vast majority of gun owners are "good") disarm them if possible. I do not trust my government or the powerful and don't want you to decide what is appropriate for me to defend myself.  History supports my position far more than yours.

MMmm! Not so sure about that.
Yes, there IS a Utopia.

It lives in the minds and hearts of good people.
You don't get there by thoughts of weakness, powerlessness, and murder.
That's the opposite of what the NRA preaches.

"Better load up - the Bogey Man gonna get you!"

I got a little book that teaches the right way.
It says "Hammer your swords into plowshares."

Hey, all you whiney SJW anti-2A Commie Libs: Gun ownership is up 56% since 1994... but the gun-related murder rate is down 49% since then. Sorry to introduce facts into the discussion. Sounds like your narrative is more *Fake News*. Now go away, clowns !!

Wow, you people are desperate now! Asking *what if* questions are lame. What if a truck purposely runs over and kills people. Should we ban trucks? Because obviously the truck had a mind of it's own, right? You SJWs are sick. And how do you propose we stop *random wackos*, you genius? Go back under your rock.

Like I said, I stand by my previous convictions. Unlike libs, my convictions don't follow the path of least resistance or emotional upheaval..

A couple more things to ponder. The following graph makes clear that there is no correlation between number of guns and homicides.

Really??  Ponder these statistics:

USA has 112 guns per 100 people - gun homicides in 2016 = approx 11,000

Japan has 0.6 guns per 100 people - gun homicides in 2016 = 11

Like I said, I stand by my previous convictions. Unlike libs, my convictions don't follow the path of least resistance or emotional upheaval..

I don't believe you.

Btw. America has always had a higher incidence of violent crime regardless of weapon used. Comparing an individualistic society with a conformist one is again, apples and oranges.  BTW, don't freaking ask me a question then tell me I'm lying when I reply...asshat.

Congressman Steve Scalise was shot and almost killed on that softball field this summer. I read an article today, and that incident STRENGTHENED his support of the 2A. He is a wise man. Too bad more and more men these days are wimping out, hiding under their bed, being snowflakes, and buying into the DNC talking points of fear and hysteria. Some of you men need to take the *man test*, but I suspect you can't make it because you'll miss one of your SJW Classes.

So nothing from the left...........?   This is what happens when you put your opposition on "ignore", yes that would be you Who_dem and maybe Tio Vinny, you just ignore it because you can't wrap your head around that a single truck and one guy  in Nice, France took out more people than a guy with several dozen long guns on the 32nd floor in Las Vegas..........    You have all ignored this fact.   But carry on..........    It is all about how you "feel" and not the factual evidence.    Ban trucks first, then guns so says the evidence.   Oh, and then you will starve from lack of food.   Think, please think it all out before you post nonsense opinion here and everywhere else.   Chris

.............And just once again, look at the historical record.   Mao, Stalin, Hitler, Pol Pot, Castro, the Sandanistas, on so on and so on, the usual leftist, communist, socialist, progressive leftists.   Every time the left takes your guns, hundreds of thousands to many millions of people die a very painful death in the coming years, the coming "pogroms" the coming "cultural revolution".   History is on my side here, the facts, and in spades.   Please prove me wrong.   You can't, can you...?  This is why we will not be disarmed, we have seen what those of you on the left do once you are the only ones who have the guns.  Never again.   Chris

Read my words carefully.  I didn't say you were lying.  I said I didn't believe you.  There IS a difference.   If I say you're lying, the burden is on you.  If I say I don't believe you, the burden is on me.

And lose the epithets.  they're not characteristic of you.
