I'm excited for the opening. My sisters and I (4 of us in all) like to get together once a month for a sister-only dinner out. We like to pick restaurants that offer a long, lingering evening. We have been to the Melting Pot about a year ago, and it was wonderful. Not only was the food great, but we enjoyed three hours of dining without feeling rushed.
On a side topic, we are running out of restaurants to try that do offer a leisurly pace to eat our meals. Anyone out there know of other restaurants that you can enjoy a meal with others for 2-3 hours? We have (like I stated, been to Melting Pot), but also Buca Di Beppo, The Cliffhouse, Benihana, and The Kitchen (the ultimate, but a bit pricey) to name a few that awarded us a nice, long evening out, enjoying conversation. I won't mention the restaurants we felt rushed. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

We enjoy Morrocan for the same reasons. There's a great place (far away) called Marrakech:

Guess what....La Dip is open and my wife and my wife and I had dinner there tonight. At this point there are still some kinks that need to be worked out, mostly with the limited menu as there are currently only two different selections for main courses, but overall it was good. Ambiance was nice....all in all it's pretty much like the melting pot but currently not as good. The dinner for 2 is $79 and includes 4 courses....I guess on Friday there menu is going to expand a bit with more selections. Overall I rate the dining experience a 7.

I only had the desert fondue (milk chocolate) but it was pretty good. Prices are a little steep, the ambiance is good but give it a little while so that the new store/glue smell goes away. The staff was extremely friendly, our waiter was excellent, and the manager seems to be keen on suggestions. It isn't a place I'll freqent regularly (price) but it is a cool place for those special occasions.

I walked by today and there were huge black screens over all the windows. I know they are open - this is very off-putting. As a new restaurant they should want people to look & see inside so that they will come back at night to eat! I probably won't try it for a few months so they can get the kinks out. But I just thought it was wierd that they have the windows completely covered up!

Uhhhhhhhhhh.......this isn't confusing at all.......I'm FolsomBarb, and not the same person as "Folsom Barb" above..............

I did a real double-take when I saw this post.....I know I'm having "senior moments", but didn't think I was so bad I'd forget posting something, especially since I don't even know where LaDip Fondue is!!!!!
I assume full responsibility for my actions, except the ones that are someone else's fault.

$79 for dinner for two @ La Dip Fondue?????? WOW!! That is pretty steep.... I realize it's a 4 course meal but how many things can you dip into something that would cost $79???
Dinner for 2 at Macaroni Grill doesn't even cost that much!
That's too bad.... I was hoping to just pop in there for dessert but not if it cost $40!! Geesh!

Did you really just compare gourmet fondue with Macaroni Grill?
"Sure, Paragary's is nice, but I can get fish taco's for $.79 cents at Long John Silvers!"

Just because you put "Gourmet" in front of fondue does not make it more than what it is worth. It is melted sauce that you dip appetizers in.
It is just food. Unless you are dipping Kobe Beef or some kind of expensive meat, cheese, lobster, caviar, etc., $79 is a lot of money for "chocolate", "cheese", "Bread", "Carrots", and any other vegetable you can buy at the store and melt and dip yourself.
Believe me, I have no problem paying over $200 at Ruth Chris, Mortons or Maces for a good steak and lobster, but $79 to dip sliced food in at a strip mall??!! ~ GIVE ME A BREAK!!
La Dip Fondue = Gourmet??? Are you serious?

You'd pay $200 for a steak at Ruth Chris???? I can get the same steak at Sizzler for $6.95.
To all you Freaks, don't stop the rock....

LoL!!! Hey we've done that too!! Now that two kids are in college and we need to watch our pocket books, we look at quality AND price! You know, Sizzler's steak and lobster isn't all that bad either. HAHAHA!!
